I was so excited when I realized we had a local ice rink that had public skating. Ice skating is my absolute favorite sport. BUT I had the worst ever experience I've ever had ice skating tonight. ALL of the issues are 100% preventable and merely due to negligence and apathy. We were not made to sign any wavers before skating. All of the rental skates were completely flat and blunted, literally no edges what so ever, and most of them rusty. The ice was completely carved up, rutted, covered in shavings completely, and had huge mounds in many places where the ceiling had been dripping for days. I and my family were some of the first people there so I know they hadn't used the zamboni for several sessions at least. I asked staff about these issues and they said they couldn't do anything when the team and equipment manager are not there. This is idiotic, the rink and skates are completely unusable and dangerous in this condition. My 50+ year old father fell and bruised his knee and cracked a rib due to these conditions. We are not professionals but we are definitely not beginners. We've been ice skating together since I was a child a couple of times a year (we know what we're doing). I planned on getting a pair of figure skates myself soon anyway, but I will NOT be back until SOMEONE fixes these problems. We were not the only unhappy patrons either, many families were leaving disappointed and angry. THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE REGULAR STAFF! All of the staff present were professional and friendly and had no control/training to correct any of these problems. I don't want to lose our rink, but it cannot go on like this....
Read moreUnfortunately this facility is not maintained well and is not within ADA compliance. The restrooms are a major point of non compliance due to the women's restroom that was open at the time of our visit has stairs while the other woman's restrooms were closed. The men's restrooms were in major disrepair. The stalls in the men's restrooms were not in compliance with ADA. My son who is in a wheelchair was unable to fit a standard size wheelchair in the stall door way in order to use the restroom. Another issue with this facility is the concession stands which are not in ADA compliance with regards to food options for visitors with food allergies. Several visitors in our group have milk, cheese, and peanut allergies. The staff posted signs stating that no outside food or drink was allowed and there was no options for those with...
Read moreI'm originally from Louisiana, I've n ver even watched a hockey game on t.v. Seen clips of course and heard who wins the big ones etc. But other than that , zero interest. We went as a group with our local Men's Rugby team for their anniversary and I had I time of my life. These guys throw down and when the games not going there's all kinds of entertainment. We racked up at the gift shop and found some decent food. The crowd was so into it. Southern sports fans at their best. By the time we left I told my wife to buy season tickets. Of course the team is the main event. They played their butts off and kept it very exciting. And this is coming from a rugby player. I don't know what else goes on at this arena but I'll definitely be back for the...
