This is the best bakery I have ever experienced and I am really picky. It's amazing. I always come in to buy sweets as a treat for my 80 year old mother, she adores the salted chocolate chip cookies and their brownies. their monkey muffins and almond croissants. Their cinnamon rolls are special too. We also have enjoyed their savory treats - the everything croissant with scallion cream cheese, special soups, mac & cheese, salads, etc.
I don't like commercial bakery cakes as they generally taste too artificial and sweet. Baker's Grove makes a double chocolate cake that is insanely delicious - and beautiful, decorated with gold dust like the magic that lies within. It's my birthday treat every year and this year I got it for Valentine's too, my husband got extra points for that.
I'll admit it is pricey, but worth every penny. They clearly use the best ingredients, locally sourced where possible, and never cut corners. When they sell out, they sell out - they don't carry products over from one day to the next.
I am in love with their amazing displays and the decorative charm of the shop. I do think they should use little labels/chalkboards to identify the items bc it does seem to take extra time for the staff to explain what everything is to each customer. I have always experienced good, transactional service but in a little hometown shop I frequent regularly, I'd love to see more...
Read moreI recently stopped in here after many months of wanting to visit and I was impressed with the almost sold out display case at close to 1pm on a Saturday afternoon! That spoke volumes to the quality and the success they are having!!! I was hoping to try the chocolate cake but the chocolate cake was actually sold out so I opted for the S’mores tart and the Ube cheesecake.
Let’s dive into the details: the crust on both of these desserts are delicious and seemingly identical but they shine differently as they pair with the other ingredients in their recipe. The S’mores tart was rich in chocolate, with a toasted marshmallow topping. The cheesecake was big enough to share and also had some beautiful elements such as the toasted coconut, and the creamy whipped topping.
Their service was fast and the line moved quickly. I loved the big display window giving a visual to the hard work happening in their kitchen too, a nice personal touch indeed!
The location is perfect, there is a private parking lot shared with other surrounding businesses and there’s...
Read moreI ordered a birthday cake for my Mother-in-Law's 65th birthday. It was my first time ordering a cake so I was a bit nervous but saw they had great reviews and the credentials listed for the bakers on the website were great. They did not disappoint! Firstly, the cake looked absolutely beautiful! I am not a big cake person, I usually hate the texture and this cake I loved! It was moist and not overly sweet. The layer of icing was not ridiculously thick, it was the perfect thickness (I don't like icing so for me this was ideal). The filling was also the right amount, not too sweet, and seemed to almost blend in with the cake in the best way. Everyone loved it, especially my Mother-in-Law. I highly recommend them for any special occasion. They are a bit pricey but once you take a bite you understand why.
I also tried one of their pastries (chocolate croissant) and that was on point too! I tend to be picky with croissants but this had the perfect flakiness and amount of chocolate. I will definitely...
