Extremely Disrespectful and Unprofessional Experience
I had an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience at the Starbucks in Shrewsbury. From the moment we walked in, a young male employee was rude and dismissive. He got my drink order wrong, and instead of apologizing or offering any kind of customer service, he ignored my polite suggestion to either give me the smaller incorrect drink or add it to the correct one. Instead, he poured it straight down the drain without a word.
I then reminded him that I had requested light ice in my order, and again, he responded by dumping the entire drink in the sink and starting over, clearly irritated. At no point did he acknowledge his mistakes or show any courtesy.
What really pushed this experience into unacceptable territory was what happened as we were leaving. I was holding my nine-month-old baby, and his foot lightly touched the counter. The same employee abruptly told me to get my baby's feet off the counter because it was a "food safety" issue. First of all, if it truly were a concern, he should have politely addressed it when it happened—not as we were already walking out. Secondly, I seriously doubt a baby’s clean socks are more of a hygiene issue than the visibly dirty, cluttered counter I saw behind the bar.
This kind of behavior—especially toward a parent juggling a baby—is not just unprofessional, it’s unacceptable. I’ve been a longtime Starbucks customer, but this experience made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. I hope management addresses the lack of basic courtesy and customer service shown by...
