This place is GREAT!!!! I am from Connecticut in town for a spring training trip with a bunch of my college friends. Went to a certain big box electronic retailer and their in house repair service. After having to wait in a cue to get an 'appointment' to see someone, their 'expert' looked and listened to my external hard drive and decalred it DOA and said that they could 'send it out' to a sterile room for a data recovery operation for $550 with a possibility of rising to a 'level 3 procedure starting starting at $1,450!!!!! Yes you read tha right, one thousand four hundred and fifty dollars!!
Needless to say after getting the heads up from a local batteries and bulbs outlet to try Uptech I was at their door first thing Monday morning. by noon they had the external hard drive operational and then transferred some programing from the external drive to the laptop. Read moreI went to Uptech Computer because they are an authorized Lenovo warranty repair center. I was very disappointed in the appearance of the facility. Lots of computers and equipment everywhere. The place appeared very disorganized. I was told that my warranty repair was not approved because my laptop appeared to have been dropped. This is my personal laptop and it was never dropped and the laptop had no physical damage. After being told that my laptop appeared to have been dropped I chose not to allow Uptech to do any repairs. After I picked up my laptop and returned home, I realized that my laptop had been slightly damaged. The bottom left corner of the screen had what looks like small spiderweb type cracks. Do to my experience I cannot recommend Uptech Computer and I will not do any future business...
Read moreI don't recommend this company. I assume they're technically qualified, but so are the many computer repair shops in the area. I would go elsewhere. Why? The proprietor doesn't bother to do the minimum of working with the customer to understand the problem or discuss the customer's concerns. Just took my computer and contact info and good bye. No discussion of problem. Didn't ask what was already done So, the technician did exactly what I had done. Decided it needed $900 to repair and charged me $65 for doing what I had done.
