Original Word of Mouth — Restaurant in Siesta Key

When we arrived it was not very busy. We ordered coffee and my wife ordered diet Coke. A few minutes later someone else asked for our drink order and we said the first person took the order. Finally a waitress brought me a cup of coffee but said the diet was out and needed changing. We ordered our food. After at least 10 more minutes I got up and walked to the drink area and asked what happened to my wife's drink. Someone then brought the drink as it had been forgotten. A lady did offer to refill my coffee. After the food arrived we never were asked if the food was ok or if we wanted a refill of our drinks. We both totally ran out of drinks and finally flagged down a waitress to get another refill. The refills were delivered by a different waitress. Finally after we had completed our food the waitress who took the orders came by with the check and then asked if we needed anything else. We said no it was too late then and we were disappointed in the lack of service. Her excuse was the restaurant got very busy. We moved to Sarasota 6 months ago and have eaten breakfast there at least 6 times and we were happy with everything. After we left this time we decided we won't be back. I am not a complainer. I am a very tolerant person having owned a retail store before my retirement. Something was missing that morning for sure. No one seemed to be in charge of the staff. My husband, and I used to frequent Original Word of Mouth; almost visiting at least once a week. We loved the amazing staff, and food was always delicious. We adopted a vegan lifestyle a few years ago so do not have much of a reason to come anymore other than being able to modify the veggie & spuds, having a coffee, and a dry piece of toast. The veggie & spuds is still delicious, and my mom literally craves it so we came for a recent visit so she could calm the craving. I ordered my veggie & spuds and asked the nice waitress for avocado instead of the heaping amount of eggs my mom enjoyed…we know eggs aren’t cheap these days. I enjoyed about half of an avocado with my breakfast, and after arriving home realized the waitress had charged me $2.50 for it. She didn’t mention an up charge when I placed my order or I would have excluded it …it is very frustrating to get charged for not wanting to eat animal derived foods especially when that is the only savory dish we want/can eat on your menu. I appreciate you taking the time to read my review, and hope that consideration will be taken for future modifications that aren’t about not “liking” an ingredient but having a true connection with where our food comes from, and trying to be better for the...

Went for the 1st time today and I'm so glad at the last minute we picked this place to try. Friendly service, looks like its a Locals Favorite and the food was Delish. Now i can't wait for our next trip back to sarasota to try more stuff on the menu. Everything sounded good. I tried their Tex Mex Omelette. I was nervous cause I've had similar in other places but this was way better. The flavors blended well. It had spicy chorizo but like the Waiter said it wasn't to hot not at all. Then you get home fries on the side. I've should have started with that first OooEeemGeee 😮 they got with the Garlic 🤤 img its sauteed with Garlic (im thinking minced either way soooo BOMB) Onion and my boyfriend tasted bacon also. Either way i just want more Home fries yummm!! THEN!! you get toast, muffin or biscuit. So i went with their SWEET POTATO MUFFIN.... SERIOUSLY ok so lets just say i ordered and extra muffin to go and now im 2-3hrs away back home looking up some recipes on youtube 😂 Anyways!! I hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.
