Hidden Gem! Me and my wife stayed at Siesta Key Palms Resort in Feb 2025. I guess I’d characterize this place a Mini Resort, but there is something for everyone, the owners thought of everything literally under the sun that one would want while on vacation or just passing through. We didn’t want to leave!||The Staff… everyone was so courteous and super friendly; every person we interacted with had a big smile on their face and was so welcoming it warmed the heart. ||The Property… when you are arriving you would never guess there’s a resort hidden inside the foliage, I say this because it rests on a corner of a fairly large intersection but once you go inside you’d think you are on a tropical island. This place has everything, 2 pools (1 heated 1 not) and the lounge chairs are incredibly comfortable. There’s a separate laundry room anyone can use, same with bathrooms near the pool area. There are a few nooks and crannies carved into the foliage around the property that has comfy chair swings hanging from the canopy, there are hammocks too. Theres a huge tiki hut if you want to get out of the sun and it has plenty of super comfortable chairs and couches inside. They have a fire pit near the heated pool, and they have an outdoor projector TV screen set up and have movie nights for kids. They were in the process of setting up a super cute Tiki Hut bar while we were there. They also have speakers scattered about the property and they pipe in what I would describe as easy listening island music. There is free parking. They also did a beautiful job on the lighting at night, it’s very romantic. ||Extras… There are Bikes you can use for free, same with high end backpack style beach chairs (they came in handy for the short trip to Siesta Key Beach). There is an outdoor drink / soda vending machine and a huge outdoor grille in a common space. ||The rooms… definitely have a tropical feel to them, they are clean, spacious, I’d even say have a fun vibe and the room we had has a good sized patio, table with umbrella, chairs, and a nice big gas grille. ||Location… This is one of the best benefits to this place, within a 7 minute drive there’s a mall, there’s also a Publix, multiple restaurants including Italian, Mexican, and a Longhorn Steak House and Ruth Chris, all kinds of fast food, and we found a fantastic French breakfast restaurant I would highly recommend called Merci Café. And the crown jewel Siesta Key Beach is 2.5 miles away (15-18 minute drive), it’s one of if not the top rated beach in the US, it’s free parking, has nice bathrooms and a small restaurant that also serves drinks. ||Critique… I have only 2 small critiques. The first is the traffic in the morning, the main entrance is on a major road that leads to the only bridge that gets you over to Siesta Key. The problem is getting out but once you finally get onto the road it’s a 20 minute drive in traffic. Helpful hint, take the road behind the resort (Dawn St.) to Avenue D, take a right then left onto Stickney Point Rd to go to the beaches. Only other comment is occasionally you can hear loud car exhausts or motorcycle exhausts. It wasn’t bad...
Read moreThe day of check in a text from your hotel was sent around 11 am saying I can schedule early check in, but I was in the airplane at that time and did not receive it so I did not know I have the option to check in early. I was at the hotel around 2:30pm on Friday and told the front desk lady we were there with a child. I was told that we will definitely get into the room before 4, so we did not leave anywhere hoping that she was right and we'll check in before 4. I was told that it’s too late to pay for the check in, but we will get into our room before 4. Other people who did not have early check in came at 3:30 and got checked in. When I walked around the resort I saw rooms ready and empty. At 4:06pm I went to the reception to ask if my room was ready and only then I was told it was ready. When I asked how come others got to check in earlier even if they did not reserve early check in I was told they were lucky and I wasn’t. She knew I was waiting!
We only had two bigger towels in the room and one was "shedding" like crazy. We were three in the room. Indeed I got more towels after I requested, but for a "4 star hotel" I thought I shouldn’t have needed to ask for more towels or good condition towels.
When I checked in I was given a paper with the description of the rules and it said late check out was $50 (see picture towards the bottom). Saturday I got a text from staff to check in on how is our stay and I asked if we could reserve late check out. I was offered free of charge stay until 12pm. When I asked how much will it cost me to stay longer and what is the latest I can stay the answer was “ we do a fee of 100$ until 1pm”.(see screenshot from my text conversation with staff).
We arrived Friday and Saturday night my daughter broke her arm. We checked out on Sunday around 12 something (one day earlier) to return home so she can get to see an orthopedic doctor Monday morning as we were told at ER that she might need surgery, and all I got from the hotel was "I'm sorry to hear that". All the other providers (rental car, air plane, hotel in Tampa before our very early flight) offered some sort of compensation due to our medical emergency, except your hotel.
I’m giving low start for the room because the stove was not working, there was a tiny fridge in it that could barely fit anything, the mugs were dirty and one was missing the handle, there was a half empty bottle and dirt under the bed - we need to have the bed by the wall for my daughter not fall of the bed so I had to move it, the cover on the sofa was dirty, the toilet clogged just voiding regular waste, and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable).
If you have no issues, the hotel might sound pretty good, but if things happen, it doesn’t sound like the hotel cares/supports their guests. I would...

My family had a wonderful stay at this lovely resort over February break. If your plans are taking you to Siesta Key, the Palms is a fantastic option just over the bridge from the beach. The owners have done a wonderful job creating a tropical hideaway that transports you off the main road. We were wowed by all the lush plantings, sandy nooks, tiki torches, and fabulous hammocks spread throughout the property. You feel like you’re in a different world!
We started in a regular suite, which was clean, spacious, and well stocked. The outdoor covered patio was perfect for our family; it really expanded the space. Unfortunately, our family had a little trouble sharing one room (let’s just say we had some snorers in the bunch…). When I approached Christine at the front desk, she helped me problem solve and agreed to reach out to the wonderful manager Billy about our options. Billy quickly responded - even while he was out of town - and offered a solution that worked for everyone. He worked his magic and swapped things around so we could move to a one bedroom suite, which allowed us to separate the snorers and all get more rest. He truly saved our vacation!
Owen at the front desk was also super helpful when our AC had an issue, quickly providing a temporary standalone unit until our wall unit could be fixed. He, Billy, and Christine were all so friendly and helpful in all our interactions, as were all of the staff.
The heated family pool was absolutely gorgeous, and we loved the covered seating options around it. We didn’t take advantage of the free bikes, but other guests did. (Note to families: we had planned to rent children’s bikes from a nearby shop as the hotel didn’t have any, but we didn’t feel comfortable having our 6yo biking on the busier streets. Adults would have been fine though).
The hotel provided plenty of towels and even offered beach chairs. We even did laundry during our weeklong stay. (You do pay for it; they provide change in quarters at the desk). Note that there currently is no food available at the resort other than a vending machine, but that was fine with us. We stocked our large fridge at the local Publix and enjoyed many meals at our suite. Again, the outdoor patio was clutch so we didn’t feel like we were eating in our bedroom.
If your travels are bringing you to Siesta Key, I highly recommend this lovely resort! Thank you Billy, Owen, Christine, and all the staff for helping us have a...
