First time at this store , was easy enough to find what I need. What felt like a major draw amd why I didn’t give a higher rating is that this business has a rule only posted at the register which took me off guard ( also not in a location I would be looking in the first place). That they require a second form of id, which noteably most people who aren’t local or haven’t gone to this specific store would not have known about and likely not been able to purchase in normal legal cases. The cashier asked for my debit or a credit card as secondary id for checking my proof of I’d which was a original non secondary in state id. Pretty sure asking for a debit or credit does classify as proof of Id under alcohol laws and thus unacceptable as proof to request. My second issue is this , what if the person at the register has a perfect memory as was the case of a man who had memorized 1200 customers card info and was using for personal purchases? Would much rather not have that happen, regardless of how unlikely someone is to do that. Third when I stated before knowing was a store policy and the employee stating such that as far as I’m aware I’m only required to present one legal form of I’d and that is an original copy not secondary, cashier responded a bit snappily that she didn’t have to sell to me. I wasn’t aware of the store policy because I wasn’t looking at the plexiglass and being that was my first time in the building it feels like it would make sense to present such a policy as “ this business requires as second form of I’d. The following are acceptable forms of primary and secondary id…”. The cashier could have also have simply said this business adheres to a stricter age verification policy than the state requirement is as allowed by law which I hadn’t prior been aware of. All of these things would have made the experience I had less aggravating and far more reasonable as I don’t carry a credit card nor give my debit to anyone to avoid them memorizing it nor is a social security card a legal form to purchase alcohol among things so this limiting my options to my passport which luck would have it I had. Not sure if I will be back there are other stores that sell the same things without as much hassle to new customers trying to get home and celebrate an occasion. So thanks for that. Hope for other customers that are new at least take the suggestions I put in this review to use. I’m also planning to review a few other alcohol distribution laws to verify if it’s even legal for you to have requested a debit or credit card to verify a id as there’s financial information on such and no visual identification to actually prove such is actually the person you are trying to verify and if not I shall bring this to the attention of local authorities. Noteably afterwards just before leaving briefly had what I would call a pleasant conversation about fake ids and a movie which I sadly forgot the name of because I actually wanted to look up and watch. My issue here in fact wasn’t the cashier FYI. Edit: alcohol laws accepts credit and debit as forms of secondary id as long as they have photos on the card/s themselves here’s a list from their site County Identification Card (photo) Military ID (photo) College ID (photo) Credit Card, Debit Card, or Bank Card (photo) NJDMV Boat License (photo) As followed is not acceptable secondary Automobile Registration and Insurance Card (together) Credit Cards (non photo) Work Identification Noteably the debit/credit, are most common to have also most commonly don’t have a photo of the person on said card, as who has a photo on their debit or credit anyways (?) is being requested as secondary as thus is a invalid secondary if not having said photo. This if requesting a secondary you are required by law that it in all cases not when you choose to have a photo of said person purchasing if you wish to request it as a secondary form of id. This limits you to ids that have a photo not just any credit or debit. So better asking for a us passport or some other form of I’d that has a...
Read moreCircle Liquor was excellent to work with for our wedding at the Flanders Hotel! We spoke with Chester over the phone for our initial consultation and a follow up call about a week out from the wedding. He and his group made everything so easy, including offering suggestions on “standard orders” and what it would look like for us to customize anything to our liking. On the day our guests were pleased with the selection available, and I did not hear of any situations where we ran out of something. Our invoice was sent later in the week following the wedding and also easy to settle over the phone. The pricing was transparent and our final bill was actually lower than we estimated, but entirely worth...
Read moreA few years ago, they broke my ID and then refused to serve me, saying my ID was fake. It was an NJ issued ID. Today, I left my mask at home, so I covered my face with my shirt. They watched me walk in, grab what I needed and wait in line. Then as I’m ready to pay, they tell me they cannot serve me without a mask. A T-shirt over the face counts under the executive order. I am a local, and I will never come back to this horrible business. These are just two of the countless times I have been highly disappointed with the service. Just go to the liquor store over the 34th street bridge - much better service and prices. Never once...
