If I could give a -5 stars for the manager of Dans, I would. I purchased a small Yamaha guitar $169 and a Fender Champ 2x for $250 The main draw on the amp was I was told by the salesman, if I paid out the items between December 1-6th I would get $100 in store credit on the amp and $17 on the guitar. When I went and paid it out, the manager “Jonathan Pogue?”, came out and told me an employee made a mistake and they wouldn’t honor the coupons. They would only give me $35 total and offered me a pathetic 15% off the next item I purchased as long as I purchased item from December 7th - 24th. Jonathan blamed it on his District Manager, he also made sure he removed the coupons so I wouldn’t have them to back up what I’m saying. I had already taken pics of them. Most managers would have honored a deal THEIR company initiated! Jonathan has a lot to learn about how badly you can damage a company’s reputation when you right out lie to a customer. I never go into a pawn shop to sell, I only purchase items and I have purchased many items from Dans in Somerset, but I would be hard pressed to purchase anything from a company that makes every lame excuse they can come up with to keep from honoring their word! Buyer Beware! They are not a company that keeps their word. If the company I work for had this same situation, we would keep our word, and our reputation by doing right by what we promised the customer, not by telling the customer even though it’s our mistake, we don’t care, we are going to change everything after you signed our agreement and already paid for all merchandise in full. Jonathan did tell me he would give me back my money on the amp, and not charge me a penalty, to kind since I had my time and money wrapped up in the amp, that just translates to Mr Customer I’m giving you nothing, and my company can change the rules, at anytime, whenever we want, and Me Customer, there’s nothing you can do about it. Thank you Dans!...
Read moreI had a lot of bad experiences here due too certain members of their staff being unfair about the deals being presented to them. I had a brand new switch OLED with a custom case w/ stand, x3 ($60) sale price Pokemon games, a 512g Memory Card, Screen Protector, extra charger, a Pro-Controller and extra custom Joy-Cons and Clips. I kid you not they wouldn't budge off of only offering me $70 total. I couldn't believe it. But, most of those employees are gone now and -most- of the ones currently working there are cool & reasonable. One in particular with black hair and tattoos on her arm, tends to be unpleasent too say the least. Otherwise I must say they've really stepped it up and seem better than they were from 3 too atleast 6mo ago. As of today 11/26/22 they were pretty solid, as I've had to go there often lately. The manager chick was cool and helped me by offering a higher pawn then I was asking for on a product I needed to borrow money on. She offered me double even, and on an AC unit during winter. That was much appreciated. My advice, figure out who you want to deal with and look/wait for them each time. It seems too help my experience tremendously. -This review had them at 1 star but I'm bumping it too 4 now based on...
Read moreIt's a pawn shop people. They buy low they sell high. And in a town like this full of people trying to haggle you down on everything as hard as they can because no one has any money and no one wants to pay for anything, they are even more on their defenses with pricing. They have to gamble on things and make profit on what they do sell to cover what they don't. If you want some other experience, then you don't need to be in a pawn shop. However this one in particular has worked with me on price if I give back a little in the negotiations as well. Offer to buy another piece of merchandise if they will discount the first one. Or explain your reasoning for a suggested price drop. They gave me a more expensive TV than the one I bought that broke when I got it home, and didn't charge me any up charge. And also I didn't even get the warranty they offered. And it was like a week later. They've been more than cool with me. They respect people who act...
