We just happened upon this place while driving through town on our way to TN. It's really cool with some neat stuff but definitely not very haunted. It's mostly just older items with curious stories - many of which are exaggerated at best. Fortunately for the curators here, my grandmother just happens to be a Romanian Vrajatoare and cursed several of the items that they falsely claimed were cursed in the museum. The items will now torment anyone who knowingly fabricates their story. I saw this same curse work with a fake antique that some guy tried to sell my grandma at a flea market. She put the old abracadabra 123 on this antique and the poor guy starting believing he was being followed by the cops everywhere he went (the item was a fake antique Texas Rangers badge). Anytime he saw a cowboy hat he would go crazy too. Eventually some of his friends convinced my grandma to get rid of the curse and she did. She had to bury the badge in the woods with some stuff in a bag and the guy had to stay up all night when she did it. It was pretty bizarre. Anyway, I'm rambling....The curse should be great for the items there at the museum. And there's some really cool stuff there. The girl that gave the tour was really nice too.
Update: I forgot to mention that after we made our way through the museum, we decided to order some meatloaf and pot pie. The service was super slow so we went to Cattlemens with Kent Ellis. I think he might ...
Read moreI have a lot of family in Somerset and was in town for a wedding a few weeks ago. We were looking for things to do online before the wedding and we found this lovely joint. I highly recommend it if you're looking to kill time and have some fun. It was really interesting and the collection is definitely impressive for the cost of admission. I had a lot of fun taking the time to read every little thing that caught my eye, and I'm sure I missed some stuff. I'd definitely return the next time I'm down visiting the area.
We bought some fun shirts, the coloring book, and a few other little things. I can't decide if I actually want to color in the book or just keep it for pursuing. It's a really awesome collection of drawings from local artists and I'd hate to ruin it, but I know it's actually meant for coloring 😅 so maybe one day I'll bite the bullet and put my own marks on the paper. I highly recommend purchasing things in the gift shop. The shirts are a nice quality and fit...
Read moreSome of my favorite places visited are the ones not planned. I was not aware this place existed in Somerset. It's a little hard to find, you have to walk down a small set of stairs just off the sidewalk. Once inside it feels a little cramped and dimly lit, but in an odd way that added to the experience. There was quite a bit of information ranging from Bigfoot to UFO'S with a little macabre mixed in. Although there seems to be more information and memorabilia than actual artifacts here, it was well worth the $4 admission fee. I would recommend this to anyone looking to do something a little different. On our trip home each person in our party was talking about their favorite display. I pride myself in trying to observe everything, a few item they discussed I didn't see. I guess a second trip will be in...
