Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Somerset

I live near here and used to eat here a lot. I've stopped over the last few years, reasons to follow, but wanted to give another chance before I left my official review. Went back yesterday and they managed 3 out of 4 items completely wrong. (ordered two Cherry Chocolate blizzards, an Oreo sunday, and an unsweetened tea. Got Peppermint Blizzards, a "sunday" that consisted of a cold brownie literally shoved in a cup with ice cream and syrup. No oreo in sight) So here it is.

They will get 90% of orders wrong. You can suggest things you would like, but it's a toss up what you will get. Chicken strips are usually dry and tiny, fries stale, and the blizzards have barely anything in them. When I say barely, I am being generous. I have on two occasions gotten cups with only ice cream. You can guarantee you will need to shift ingredients on any sandwich you get, everything will be falling off, so don't plan to eat while you drive. One shred of lettuce, a suggestion of tomato, and soggy bun because it's been sitting in the sauce for a while. The hash browns are so greasy it soaks through the bag. Bacon is over cooked so bad it crumbles, but that works because it just matches the biscuits which are broken up when you get them. Orange juice is usually good after you remind them you got one. They will charge full price for a freaking water.

Ironically the kids working there brag about how much they make, they have numerous times to me personally. There are other places downtown that are far far better and cost the same. No kidding, I can get a burger at the Charred Oak for the same price.

Maybe I am hard because I remember when this place was good and I went there multiple times a week. Maybe I should be thankful because it does make it easier to loose weight not wanting to eat there anymore. Pretty sure after the downward slide the last few years this place is only open still because of the car shows and that it's the only fast food downtown.

My advice is to not risk wasting your money and skip it.

9-6-25 Got a Blizzard today to see if it's changed. It hasn't. Had a cup full of $6 melted ice cream and there was so little stuff in it my husband wasn't able to tell...

Time after time these fools mess up my food I think they do it on purpose no one could be that stupid over and over the whole place is ran by a simpleton That hands your ice cream out the window and tells you to pull up for 20 minutes so you can have a 4 dollar cup of milk after you eat your plain double cheese with 2 cups of ketchup and one slice of cold cheese and no fries because the fryer is already cleaned but she is very sorry after the 22 minute wait All after spending over 18.00 for a small Sunday small blizzard 2 cheese burgers and didn't even get my fries I waited 22 minutes for. Dairy Queen is one of my favorite places to eat but I hate eating at this one. The food always looks & tastes like it’s old, it’s rarely ever hot. I prefer to eat at the one across town but have never had any major issues. Yesterday for dinner my daughter got a chicken strip basket & a blizzard. She ate it & half of the blizzard so I finished it. Not even 3-4 hours after we ate it we were both throwing up every 10-15 minutes and have CONTINUED to throw up every 20-30 minutes for the past 8 hours.
