Do not buy from here. Iâve had a long journey with my dress and I finally just got married yesterday. My dress strap snapped during mine and my husbands kiss at the alter. When the owner ordered my dress back in November, I was told it would be in before April and it was. I went to pick it up early April and try it on and the dress company had made the dress straps too small (a defected dress). The first time I tried my dress on the strap snapped off. The only thing that could be done was order lace to replace the strap, they offered to call a local seamstress to fix the straps and they would pay for it. Olivia, who was the best, went with me to get the straps fixed. My dress wasnât fixed completely and wasnât in my hands to take home until 3 weeks before my wedding. I tried it on after at the alteration place and it seemed perfect. Yesterday, during our first kiss as bride and groom, my dress strap snapped again. This is a BEWARE of the quality of these dresses. The people that work there are nice, but for a dress over $2000 to break TWICE one being on my actual wedding day is insane. It was obviously terrible quality and that broke my heart. So, if you decide to buy from here, ask about what happens if the dress comes and is not up to par. A wedding dress that takes 6 months to come in has no room to be fragile. And to beat it all, the owner never reached out to me directly. Never spoke to me once and sheâs the one that sold me the dress. She depended on Olivia and I only had contact with Olivia the...
Read moreShowed up with my sister early for our appointment and was rudely greeted. The sales girl asked us to wait in our car and come back at our exact appointment time. Thankfully when we came back she was not the one helping us. The girl helping asked my sister if she had a dress in mind. My sister responded yes because the only reason we came to this shop (3&1/2hr drive) was because they were listed as having her dress. My sister showed the sales girl the pictures of the dress and the girl said they didnât have it but we could still try others. My sister agreed and told the girl she wanted a dress with sleeves. The sales girl said most brides think they want sleeves but they donât. Then my sister comes out of the dressing room without any help and almost falls and the sales girl says donât fall but you wouldnât be the first one. As we go to leave the sales girl asks the owner if she would be getting in the dress my sister wanted she said no but my sister could pay $50, whether she bought it or not, to have it shipped to the store. We agree and the owner says she will call her dress loan contact. The owner calls and tells my sister it costs too much to ship it in her size so my sister would have to buy it without even trying it on. So one of the happiest days of my sisterâs life was terrible and surrounded by...
Read moreThere arenât enough words to express my happiness and gratefulness towards the staff at The Steel Magnolia. After a day of wedding dress fails, I decided to make the short trip to Somerset in hopes that I would find my dream dress. I was greeted by the most lovely sales representative, Olivia, who made me feel so comfortable and special. She spent ample time with me, making sure I had every single dress that I wanted in my fitting room. She never made me feel rushed, she offered honest opinions (upon my request), and she was so hospitable. After trying on just a few options, I fell in love with âmyâ dress, and said yes! The Steel Magnolia has SO many options, and their prices are very affordable. The boutique is perfectly designed and decorated, it is very clean, and there is plenty of room for your friends and family to join you. Future brides, please take my advice- do not waste your time in Lexington. Trust me, I did! The Steel Magnolia has your dream dress for a much more affordable price! Iâm sure of it! Thank you, TSM!! I cannot wait...
