When I moved into my apartment on Somerville Ave, my friend who lives nearby told me the first thing I had to check out was Hub Comics. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous when I saw the staff was only men based on how I have been treated at other comic shops in the past. The guys who work at Hub Comics are absolutely amazing; they're incredibly friendly and welcoming to anyone who walks in the door. After one of the staff members saw what I was buying, we got into a discussion about what kind of comics I like and have read, and he was able to give me a bunch of suggestions for new series to start on. What I liked best is that while I was buying DC, he didn't limit his suggestions to the DC universe or go on about how another company was so much better, as I've experienced at other comic shops. He gave me suggestions of series from a variety of different companies, and even some local artists/authors. The store ALWAYS has great stuff on sale, and if you take the time to look you can find some real gems for a low price. If you are in the Somerville area, I definitely suggest checking...
Read moreBest local comic shop in Somerville/Boston. My wife and I come to New England every year to visit her brother and every chance I get I come to Hub Comics. They have everything you're looking for. Whether you like capes and superheroes, indie books or just old school comics this is your home. No matter who has been manning the store they have always been helpful, kind and courteous. I have been to a bunch of stores and some of the sales people weren't too inviting. This shop is the opposite. Its bright and full of new and interesting books and a huge indie section. I am personally evolving in my quest to learn more about the LGBTQ community and I found two books to help me on my journey. A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns and The Quick and Easy Guide to Queer and Trans Identities. Both books are by Oni Press's imprint called Limerence. Never even knew that was a thing and I shop comics every week. Honestly this is why I shop local because you find so many cool and interesting things. Always shop local and visit a comic shop today! Go forth and buy...

Cons: Their customer service, I didn't feel welcomed. What I mean by that was, I didn't receive any sort of greeting or being told âhey if there is anything you need please let us knowâ the basic 101 knowledge of great customer service.
Side Note: They do require masks in order to come to the store which is okay but they do have a sign that states to try and limit your time at the store for 15 min?, I didn't experience any type of pressure to leave the store but reading that might rub people the wrong way. If I were them I would suggest removing that because people will feel rushed and just become a non-enjoyable experience.
I would suggest people to go to the store, you might find some pretty solid deals but personally âThe Hubâ is not my cup of tea.
Still glad I was able to stop by and...
