Absolutely Not Dependable for Delivery/Catering. At the insistence of a co-worker I used this place for a major event with a 4:45PM delivery. I dropped the written order off several days before and was promised a confirming call as it was for several hundred dollars. I never heard anything. When the day actually arrived, I called repeatedly but they neither have an answering machine nor call forwarding. They don't have an email address that accepts responses. I physically went to the storefront during business hours only to find all the lights off and no one anywhere, even in back. Realizing they were going to mess this up royally I ran to my GoTo place, Pho'NRice (see my review) and they pulled the cockles out of the fire. Indeed, Pho'NRice - not these people - got everything there ahead of time and under budget. The food from Pho'NRice - not these people - was pronounced exceptionally good. Having never heard anything from Siam Ginger and they not answering the phone, I watched the clock tick off to 4:45PM and thought, 'Wow, Siam Ginger must have lost the order,' which was really annoying given I had gone there in person with the order in writing and talked to the staff. Instead, even worse, at 5:30PM I got a call from someone at Siam Ginger promising they could have the food 'ready' (probably, not delivered) at 5:45, a full hour after I had ordered it the previous week. As you can imagine, I let them know how badly they had handled this and got a 'so sorry,' which is deeply insulting given how much business I was sending them and how easy I had made it for them. My advice is not to use this...
Read moreI came here with my parents on a day when the restaurant we’d planned to go to didn’t work out; we saw Siam Ginger on the walk back to our car and decided to stop in. So glad we did!!
We got there right as the restaurant was opening for the day so we were the only ones inside during our visit. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Our food came out quickly and the waitstaff was attentive throughout our meal.
The food was also incredible! I had the pineapple fried rice, my mom had tom yum soup, and my dad had a curry (can’t remember which kind). We all loved our food and agreed that they were the best rendition of these dishes that we’d ever tried.
The food was exceptionally flavorful and fresh-tasting. I’ve been thinking about the pineapple fried rice I had for months since my visit, it was that good 🤤. Also, my mom, who has ordered tom yum soup at dozens of restaurants over the years, said the soup at Siam Ginger was her all-time favorite because of its complexly-flavored and rich broth! My Thai iced tea was tasty as well.
Overall, I had a great experience at Siam Ginger and cannot recommend their food enough! The affordable prices certainly don’t hurt either 😉. Do yourself a favor and check...
Read moreI have been here twice. The one in Merrimack NH is overall much nicer in both atmosphere and food quality, and honestly would earn 6/5 stars. It's Delicious. When I moved here I was glad to know that the restaurant I love had second location right down the street from me. It's a little different.
The service is OK. It's better than many, but not great. You will get your food, and that's what you came for, so all in all, I can live with that.
The ambiance is good. It's not one of those trendy new places that tries too hard to have a certain aesthetic. It's just a Thai place. Again, you will get your food, so all is well.
The FOOD is really what matters. Is it good? Yes, it's pretty good. I went for the Sweet and Spicy Duck the first time and some kind of curry the second. The duck was amazing, but insanely spicy. I am a spice head so if it's spicy for me, it is very spicy. Just a consideration, as it was labeled with only 1 chili pepper on the menu. Maybe a mistake. I still enjoyed it.
Overall, a good place for Thai food. While I haven't tried everything on the menu, my friends all claimed the stuff they ate was delicious too. Don't screw yourself over by not getting the Thai Iced tea, that...
