I am so happy to have found “Fittings by Sheila”, located in Mid Jersey Medical Supplies. It was time for me to get 2 breast prosthesis & bras following my double Mastectomy. There is a separate private room for fittings. Rose is a knowledgeable and experienced fitter who took my measurements and asked questions to determine what products to bring me based on what I was looking for. For the prosthetics, she intuitively knew what was best for my altered “new” body. Since this was a unique experience for me, I was dubious that I would find something that fit comfortably, having worn bras with underwires prior to surgery. Rose made me feel comfortable; she encouraged me to try on different styles until we found the right ones. Since they are an approved Medicare provider, they handled all the paperwork for Medicare and my other health insurance. NO OTHER post-Mastectomy fittings stores I called would accept Medicare as payment; all the others said I would have to pay upfront and then file a claim with Medicare and wait for a reimbursement. Considering the cost of a single prosthesis and I required 2 prostheses plus Mastectomy bras, it was appreciated that they conduct business this way. All I needed was a prescription from my Doctor. I was extremely pleased to see that they require customers to wear a mask and will provide you with one (if you forgot yours), had hand sanitizer and also took my temperature… because I was in very close proximity with the staff. Healthy people seem to forget that cancer patients need to be extra cautious about their health, despite vaccinations (June 2022). There were several open (and free) Parking spots in front of the store. They also have many other surgical/medical supplies including diabetic footwear, walkers, wheelchairs in stock. Read moreI rarely write reviews for any business, but for Mid Jersey Medical Supplies, I must make an exception. I felt that in today's world, there are few and far between business that offer excellent service, price and assortment in product availability as Mid Jersey Medical Supplies does.
Thru the years, George (the owner and now a dear friend) has been there for my family and I, thru thick and thin. On a personal level, when my husband ( a cancer and dialysis patient) needed supplies, chair, scooter, physical support equipment, etc., George and his lovely wife, were there, unselfishly, to provide at a moment's notice, assistance and support. George reviewed with us the best options, availability and prices to make a wise decision, specially when those decisions are hard and stressful. Even today, when I went to visit them, I had asked for something unrelated, as to the removal of the old chair lift my husband used, he did not even hesitate to call someone to help me with. That says a lot for both the business and the owner. For the record, at this store, you can find all your special needs, from prosthesis, chair lifts, electric scooters, wheelchairs of every kind, cancer patient needs and supplies, special bras, bandages, bathroom support equipments, special hair needs and all kinds of assorted medical supplies, at very reasonable prices. In the event, they do not carry what your are specifically looking for, George will do all he can, to provide alternatives and recommendations. Read moreWe recently purchased a Golden PR761 EZ Sleeper power lift chair from Mid-Jersey Medical Supplies. I had never been to this store until I made this purchase. We love the chair, which is incredibly comfortable and easy to adjust.
George, the owner of Mid-Jersey Medical Supplies, was incredibly helpful. Right after the chair was delivered (and it came very quickly after ordering it) and the delivery folks left, I noticed a tear in the upholstery in the back of the chair. Kicking myself for not having examined it more closely before they left, I called George and told him about the tear. He asked me to send him a photo of it, which I did. He immediately contacted Golden, the manufacturer, and arranged for this defective chair to be returned and a new one delivered the following week! He was very kind and understanding and did not display even a hint of annoyance about the extra work this entailed.
