I purchased three 50 lb bags of Quikrete Fast Set on Sunday. When I went to use them, one bag was usable but had quite a few hard lumps, likely from being stored in a damp place. The other two bags were completely unusable.
I stopped in today to pick up three more bags . On the shelf, there were six more bags, all of which were rock solid—even when I dropped one onto another. At checkout, I asked the cashier if they had any fresh bags in the back. She was apologetic and extremely helpful. She contacted someone, explained that I had received three bad bags and that the ones on the shelf were also solid, and asked if they had fresh stock available. She told me to wait a few minutes while someone brought out three new bags.
Unfortunately, she was called away by a supervisor who seemed power hungry and unpleasant. Shortly after, another employee arrived with a bad attitude and three rock-solid bags—the same as the ones from the shelf. I told him they were no good, but he argued that they were “just compacted.” They were not—I had tested them by dropping them onto each other, and they did not break apart. He insisted that was all they had, in a condescending manner. When I refused them, he gave me a dirty look and walked off with the bags.
Thankfully, the helpful cashier returned. She immediately refunded my money and was again extremely apologetic and kind. Out of the three employees I dealt with, she was the only one who truly deserves to be working with customers. She gets a 10++, while her two male...
Read moreThese guys are life savers. I’m moving and have just a few days left and needed boxes, desperately. I tried using the Home Depot app, and it’s just absolute trash. I only wanted ten boxes, and their only delivery window was six days away. (There is so much more I could complain about with them) I needed the boxes in the next couple days.
Ace might not be the behemoth that HD is, but they totally rescued me. I went online, ordered my boxes for delivery and thought I was good. Almost immediately, I got a call from them but missed it. I called them back and asked if there was a problem. Absolute kudos to their front desk team, or whomever answers their phones, because they told me their truck is having issues and the nearest day, Tuesday, for delivery was already full. I told them I couldn’t wait longer than Tuesday and the man said he’d talk to the manager.
Long story short, the manager personally brought the boxes to me today, Monday, using his own car. I was SO appreciative of Oscar for bringing me them, and even offered, then insisted, he take a $20 for his time, and he steadfastly refused. He told me to just donate it to the charities at the register when I come in next.
A HUGE thank you to Oscar, and whomever else was manning the phones and dealing with me. Totally pleasant, efficient, and quick to help me out. I cannot recommend them enough. Give them all...
Read moreSocial distancing at 11am and stuck in the blazing sun in a slow and hardly moving line that reaches past the nursery. And no tent cover. Ain’t saying I’m a slowflake but I’m pretty sure you guys have tents or umbrellas you can put out here for your waiting customers. This store is huge. People are more than properly spaced. Which means you’re not clearing your register queue fast enough with only 2 of 6 open and no self-checkout. And not letting enough people in at a time because of the unnecessarily long queue. There’s hardly anyone working inside the store to help or direct customers. The ones in front are busy snapping at each other with terse and inpatient questions/answers. The customer service desk takes my checkout and is interrupted by another employee who barks at her to hurry and answer his question. When I’m done paying, without a word, the clerk slaps my twine across the counter to me and leaves. ACE is occupying the beautiful store that OSH built. These aren’t the helpful and friendly OSH employees. Think HomeDepot but with even less and surlier help, and more wait. That said, they had a great selection of twine, even green, for my landscaping project, which is ultimately what I came for, so bumping rating...
