So I know it's mother's day but the shelves were almost empty when I came in 2 hours after they opened. They were definitely short staffed today. I had to get in the order line because they didn't have anyone on the registers. The 2 people behind the counter were going soooooooo slow! Honestly, it almost felt like it was on purpose because they looked miserable. Did not crack a smile no matter what anyone said. That's not the See's experience I'm used to. I've been there when the line was outside the door and would still get a "welcome to See's candy! Would you like a sample?" And it was always said with a huge smile on their faces. It was sad. Finally someone else came out from the back and was going to jump back in the order line until someone else told her to ring people up at the register. Just like more than half of the line moved over. What really bothered me though, was that I was supposed to be the first to be rung up but this girl was trying to take people that were at the end of the line first. It wasn't until I asked everyone to please let the people who were in line first to go first that she finally said something. I waited over a half hour to check out, I was not trying to wait more. There were literally only 4 people in front of me placing orders. Don't know why it took so long. 2 of those people only ordered a couple of single chocolates in a bag. Needless to say, I've had better...
Read moreThis is a 1 Million Star Review, as the Sees Candy Company (and this location in South San Francisco, CA also serves as the Corporate Headquarters) has a special place in my heart. Mary Sees was a self - made woman, who during trying financial times, started her little Candy Company all by herself. She looks like my mom, and the candies are delicious, and seem to have that homemade quality. They are also unique, but unpretentious, and celebrate each occasion from Easter to the Superbowl with related candies. Diabetic friendly options are available too. The South San Francisco, CA location like all others is clean, reliable, and my first stop from the airport. I would unquestionably recommend the Mary See's Candy Company. $$ out of $$$$$ Free parking in the parking lot. American Express friendly, and promo codes available online,...
Read moreI remember as a little girl, we'd go here for special occasions to buy treats for people who were visiting or to just get a small treat as a lollipop or a dish of candy. I loved driving by to see the decorations change on the roof for Christmas, Valentine's, & Easter, etc. This place has not changed much. It's bright and inviting. You still get a free sample while walking around. The ladies that work here are super nice and helpful. The main thing that caught me off guard 1 lb of chocolate is $31? 🤯 I remember when, back in the day, it was less than $20, and then it went up to like $23. $31 is highway robbery. 2 lbs is $59. I'm all for the nostalgia, but at these prices, I'm not...
