Absolute worst venue for medium or big concerts in the area. Parking isn't included in ticket pricing, so come with a $5 ready to park in the only parking lot in the area. And if you don't want to wait in the lot for over an hour just trying to get out then make sure you leave before your show is over. They don't have traffic control after the shows, so it just become a giant cluster for literally hours.
If you just park for free across the street or even at someone's house nearby and have to walk for 30min to your car in the cold rain, you will still have a better experience exiting this venue then trying to escape the drunken madness that ensues on the asphalt hell of the Lander's Center parking lot.
The event staff is clueless. After emailing them about starting times for the show and being told that doors open at 6 and music starts at seven, I (and every other person who went to the show) was very surprised and upset to find out that the music actually started an hour prior and the place wasn't even half full by the time one of the two main acts was on. Tickets had the wrong starting times and there was no attempt to fix that or even an apology from the center for screwing it all up.
As for the building itself, the seats are cheap and feel like high school bleachers with lawn chairs on them. They are small and cramped, and leave much to be desired.
The vendors for beer and food are incredibly slow and expensive. $8 light domestic beers that have 15 minute lines or more will waste a lot of time that could be spent trying to enjoy a band. And don't expect them to be open very long. No place for food or drink was left open when I went to check an hour before the concert was over.
Bathrooms are small and crowded. I waited in line for at least 15 minutes every time I had to go. And since the main hallways are small, there's a bathroom line next to the beer line, which are both cutting through another beer/food line, leading to a giant cluster of rubbing up against a bunch of fat rednecks and wooks all night. If you're lucky maybe you'll only get one beer spilled on you in that mess.
They also held tickets until a couple hours before the show and sold them at face value ($75 in this case) at the door after people had been buying them at highly inflated prices for weeks since they "sold out" within an hour of going up.
Now, I would expect this from any run of the mill crappy venue, but this place is supposed to be nice. It's the only real competition to the FedEx forum in the area and it is like comparing a Pinto to a Mercedes in that aspect.
This place is over priced and underwhelming at best and infuriating ripoff at worst. It is not worth the money and they need to change a lot before it is good.
To end on a good note, I enjoyed the band and the lights. Nothing went wrong during the actual performance, which is what I came for. So if you are deciding on whether or not to go here based solely on being able to watch your band and nothing else, then go for it. Just don't...
Read moreWhoever designed the grounds and the entrance/exit should be drawn and quartered. Every 5 or 6 years when I forget and make the mistake of returning here for a concert, I wish a meteor would smash my car when I get in line a mile away. Tonight there was the added bonus of making the unnecessarily long wait to get into the parking lot from I-55 even longer by stopping every single car to collect a surprise $5 parking fee. Of course myself along with apparently everyone else objected by arguing with the people collecting money, adding even more wait time. Then once you park, you have to wait in line again for the metal detector. Then you have to wait in yet another line for the people who don't have their tickets ready to scan on the selve-serve ticket scanner. Luckily, there is an elderly employee standing by who was probably trained on this "new fangled technology" to help with your $1500 smartphone, the QR code and the fancy scanner. Attempting to leave the arena is every bit as bad as entering. The place has been open for like 20 years? No one has ever tried to fix this place? What a mess. It was just closed for an entire year. Is there nothing that can be done? This is an absolutely horrendous venue. I won't even mention the acoustics in here. I'm just talking about the logistics of getting in and out. I truly despise this place. Horrendous, horrible, ridiculous, uncalled for. IMO, a black eye for Southaven. Greg Davis probably had something to do with it. Just like he allowed the planning of Southaven...
Read moreI had GA pit tickets at Luke Bryan. The entry process was complicated. I went to the area that the staff told me to go, and my ticket wouldn't scan to get in the pit. Everybody had problems. Turns out they were seating me and everyone else on the wrong/opposite side. They told me and several others to just go on in on the wrong side. When my fiancé tried to come join me, his ticket wouldn't scan. I had to leave the best spot in the house to go to the opposite side to scan his ticket and then they let him in on the wrong side too. It was just not organized. Thankfully 2 sweet girls let me have that premium spot in GA back. I had gotten there before anyone to get that spot to stand. 🙏🏻 While we were stuck in the pit for 4 hours, there was no way to get any concessions or get out to go to the restroom. You'd think paying high dollars for pit tickets, that they would have some mobile concessions or an exit to get out and back in that area.
The concert, sound, and lighting was great. The venue itself was nice. The problems were with the logistics inside Landers Center. Maybe they could figure out some way to better serve their customers. It was very uncomfortable after 4 hours of standing in the same spot with no way to get a soda or anything. Mobile concessions and an extra exit from the front of the pit areas to go to the bathroom would've...
