In mid August through early September, I had the pleasure of returning to my home state of Michigan. My husband and I currently live in Florida. Because he is a disable I am always looking for handicap accessible items. I can usually find at some affordable household items in the Florida location.
Farmington Michigan: The first person I encountered was "Mr. Q". Mr. "Q" was one of several store associates that I introduced myself to and I am very glad I did. I gave him a brief overview of my situation as it relates to what I needed and he directed to areas of the buildings that had small pieces of furniture and other household items. It is obvious that "Mr. Q" is a multi-tasker. Because even though he listened to my wish list and he was focused on his job at the same time. I wandered back and forth throughout the store (asking questions) and trying to get a feel for how this store was setup...totally different than the Florida store!
I was so impressed with "Mr. Q's" professionalism and genuineness and patience that I introduced him to my son when I came back to find a couple more items before heading back home to Florida. Mr. Q, I will see you in the Spring:)
Mr. Leo, the cashier is another person that I can recall right now that really impressed me as a professional and really sincere person. I had questions about what if any discounts the store offered and he really answered them to my understanding and satisfaction. Mr. Leo, also listened to what I needed and reminded me to come back again if what I wanted was not available at the time...needed that reminder! Two other store associates in the loading area really were friendly and receptive to what I was trying to accomplish during my short stay in Michigan ...Ms. Kelly and Brandon...thank you as well! It cost nothing to treat people in a respectful and supportive manner!!!
See you in Spring 2023 as I continue to try and furnish an empty space away from home!!!
Peace and Continued Blessings, Your...
Read moreWe love coming here, and I wish I could give it five stars. The people who work here are friendly and helpful, plus they have an excellent selection. However, many things aren't priced, making shopping difficult. For example, today, we were looking at lights, but the four or so we were interested in weren't priced. We then moved on to the doors; none of the ones we liked were priced. With the size of the store, warehouse, and yard, and the fact that we were looking at so many things, it was impractical to ask for a price for everything. We'd have to have made a list as we went along and then had someone look at everything with us afterward. This is the case every time we come here, so we typically don't buy as much as we would if everything had prices marked.
The other factor in my taking a star off is that pricing is inconsistent. Some items are priced way too high, while others are very reasonable. For example, their external doors (which are kept outside and have minor to major imperfections) are mostly $200-$400. There was a door we liked, which had been a display at a store, that had some damage but was still decent. However, they wanted $400; the same door in the store is about $500. In my opinion, that is not a good deal.
All of that said, the majority of things here are nice and reasonably priced. It's a fun place to look around, and we sometimes find hidden gems. I definitely recommend checking this ReStore out! Just be prepared for a lot of walking and many things not...
Read moreI came in looking for base cabinets and left with nothing. I immediately saw what I wanted and asked for assistance.
There were three men in the cabinet area. None of them greeted me and asked to assist me. I asked one young man to assist me and he said he'd be with me shortly because he was assisting another customer. Another man pointed where the cabinets were and left. I decided to wait patiently and then my husband called me over to speak to another young man who was having a conversation on his cell phone. But then the first gentleman went on to assist another customer who asked for his assistance after me.
I just wanted assistance and it seems the employees are too busy to help or didn't want to do their job.
It's a shame that I have to give a great place a bad review but they deserve it. President Carter is all about service but the customer service at this Habitat For Humanity in Rochester doesn't...
