So, I want to preface my review by saying I never visited Grove before it remodeled and rebranded. I noticed many of the negative reviews were from people who used to visit before the rebranding, so I do not know if Grove was a downgrade. I do know, however, that it was actually very pleasant there. My partner and I traveled from upstate since we do not have a fully kosher grocery store in the area, and wanted to make the trip. I want to know what the negative reviews think is affordable, because as someone who sees non-kosher meat prices at Meijer and Target, the meat here was priced very reasonably. The beef was cheaper than non-kosher beef per pound! Groceries are just wildly expensive in general right now, but I spent the same I do at other grocery stores for kosher items at my local stores. I was fully prepared to spend more based on the reviews I read prior to coming, but it just wasn't the case. This is a wonderful kosher store. Wish there were more across the state. The store was clean, my cashier was wonderful, and I got to stock up on all my...
ย ย ย Read moreThe Grove Kosher Market in Southfield, Michigan has no lack of kosher food choices. It is a one stop shop for all your kosher food needs. The employees are pleasant and helpful. Plenty of parking. The best plastic bags of any store Iโve shopped. Yes the prices are high. I was on vacation so it was a bargain compared to eating out. If I was a local I would likely comparison shop. Edit: I was just at Grove again Purim 2025. Again the selection at this store is phenomenal. Freeze dried Estog, Krembo and Achva Halvah from Israel (my favorite) just to name a few. There in store bakery goods and ready made products are high quality and delicious. I could go on and on. However and this is a big however: their prices are shockingly high, even for kosher food. I donโt know how folks can afford to shop there on a regular basis. I would hope the owners do something for members of the community who have a tight...
ย ย ย Read moreThe pizza stop used to be the best until my last 3 visits they obviously changed the Recipe, tastes like my kids made the pizza although yes itโs cheese and bread but thatโs not why I go out to buy a slice of New York pizza that used to be AMAZING. Very amateur employees. One time the crust was so thin and burnt (not in a good way) and the slice was so small I was left with a pile of cheese if only I had a photo of it- next time the dough was raw the cheese was rubber. They had a very good thing going donโt know why they playing around. This is very sad for Detroit. Oh and donโt try to get a slice after 6PM they will look at you like who expects to have pizza at this late...
