T.J. Maxx — Attraction in Spanish Fork

I went into the TJ Maxx store in Spanish fork, UT today to purchase a few items. I went to check out with over $100 worth of items when I noticed the plant that I was about to purchase had a chip in the glass vase less than about an inch by inch wide. I asked the manager if there was any sort of discount that she could give and she comes up with a smirk on her face and says “I’ll give you .99 cents off” I said there’s nothing else you can do? This is a physical defect that ruins the esthetic of the vase and she said “no. That’s all I can do” I replied saying “would you buy this vase with that defect” she replied “no I wouldn’t purchase it with that defect” so I said “ so why wouldn’t you try to discount it more to help a customer purchase it. “She said I can give you $2.00 off” like that makes any difference. I said “that’s weird because I usually can get 10% off at the Orem store if they have a defect and she said well it’s not a big enough issue for me to give you 10% off. So basically she didn’t care to give a discount or help me even though this chip was obviously noticeable. So I told her if that’s all she can do then I don’t want it. I ended up not buying ANY of the merchandise from this location because of how ridiculous this manager was. Her name was Daneen or Nadeen or something. She was just a miserable person to work with and even said herself that she wouldn’t purchase the item with that defect. I will not return to this location and will definitely not spend The kind of money I have in the past at TJ Maxx Especially where the manager doesn’t try to accommodate you at all. She could’ve been a lot nice me about it and been like “I’m sorry that this isn’t in the best condition for you but this is the discount I can do.” Instead of saying “that sucks, you can have $0.99 off”....

Honestly my experience here was horrible! I stopped by the store with my husband to see what good deals we could find only to be looked at by employees like we came to steal this is super upsetting and very uncomfortable to shop around while feeling like people are watching your every step. I stopped by the makeup section since I’m such a makeup lover to see what good deals I could find since I always have my friends telling me they carry a lot of brand name makeup so I was excited to look and see what I could find . I found some makeup that I liked so I put it on my cart I had an employee staring us down and looking at us like we were going to take it without paying when we get to the register The cashier gets on her headset and whispers something I’m assuming telling someone else we got to the registers which she should have tried harder to not make it so obvious and while I’m paying 2 other employees come up and just look at us and she didn’t call for back up because We were the only people checking out. I honestly felt like we got stereotyped it’s honestly disgusting that people would make a customer feel this way! Someone who is willing to spend their hard earning money here. I will never come to this...

I love TJ and go quite frequently. They have a great selection and are never too busy. I’ve never had a bad experience until tonight. I walked over to the dressing room with a few items to try on. There was no sign or staff member indicating they were closed. I asked an employee if I could use them and she said yes. I walked in and began trying on my clothes. Second later, a very rude woman pounds on my dressing room door telling me I need to leave. My shirt was already off. I asked why stating that another worker had let me in. She told me I had “too many clothes”. I said “I have 10 and the limit is 10”. She then insisted that I leave because they were closing in “5 minutes” although they had just announced overhead that the store was closing in 20. She kept telling me to get out even though a previous employee told me I was okay. She was incredibly rude. I try on clothes very quickly and probably would have spent a generous amount of money if she had let me try on my items. I didn’t catch her name but she was an older hispanic lady. I love TJ max but do not plan on returning to this location due to this womans rude behavior. Don’t work in retail if you...
