Disappointing.
Placed a carryout order 30 minutes before I wanted to pick it up. Phone call dropped mid-call. Called back and waited on hold to finish placing the order. The person helping me was very polite and helpful as this was my first visit to Wing Nutz. They told me about 25 - 30 minutes. Perfect.
We arrived about 5 minutes later than expected. There were several other people waiting to pick up orders, including a few drivers for DoorDash-like services. I waited my turn. Told the server my name. My order was stacked and ready to go in the pickup window. She went to my food, and brought me the bill that had been resting on it.
I handed her my card. She returned with the receipt, which I signed and put on the bar in front of me. Then, I waited. I waited while several other orders were bagged up and given out. I waited for her to return with mine. It was pretty busy because of the NCAA Men's BBall finals being broadcast, so I tried to be patient.
Finally I picked up the check folder thingy and waived them down. They said thanks and took it. Then proceeded to fill drinks, hand out other people's food, etc. Not even a second glance. More people's food bagged up and handed out while mine sat in the pickup window cooling off.
Finally I flagged them down and asked, "Is my food ready?" "What's your name?" Really? I told her. Sure enough, there was my food, sitting right where it was when I walked in 30 MINUTES BEFORE. "Is it still warm?" I asked. "Yes, it's warm." "I've been waiting for 30 minutes." "Sorry, it's really busy." Yup, that's why I ordered this an hour ago.
Finally at home with cold pizza waiting, I opened the food. The box with the wings had been stuffed full and smashed shut. The side of jerk sauce was now sloshing around under the wings instead of in the to-go cup where it should have been.
Food critique: The traditional bone-in wings were pretty good, which is why this is not a one-star rating. The boneless wings were a bit dry. The jerk sauce I was able to salvage was good, as was the traditional buffalo. The southern honey bbq and chipotle bbq were fair. The apricot teriyaki - nope. Bleu cheese was good. Carrots and celery - warm and floppy instead of cold and crisp, packed in with the wings, and not nearly enough...
Read moreI went there for the 1st time about 2 weeks ago. Got an order to go.... Not busy yet early in the evening was told 15-20 mins. Over 40 mins later get the food. Bill came to $58. Thinking that was really high but family at home are waiting so I'm done. We live 3 mins away. Got home unpacked and everything was cold! Got nachos and you could just tell it was probably the 1st thing made the cheese was so rubbery and cold. Our "fry things" not sure what they are called but were 40% burnt no eating them - ordered a extra side of them to have the mixed seasoning but not on it. Had a salad wasnt there. And the wing combo with the other pork was overall disappointing. I tried calling as soon as I got home but it didn't even to appear to be a business phone. No answer I finally called the location in Orem to see if I had the correct number and I did. So about 30 mins after I got home the server finally answered. She was very sweet while I was in the store ordering and was the same on the phone. She said they couldn't do a refund but could do a gift card for the amount. So today I decided to swig by, grab the card, and use it for different items and hope its better if not its essential free food. Same server still sweet. Order took longer then was told again. Went at 430 pm so well before any rush. This time I ordered the hamburger combo, pulled pork sandwich, the chicken salad, and I know - I know - a 1/2 order of nachos but this time everything on the side. Overall the same results. The boxes had food speared all over the top when I was unboxing everything. The nachos same results. I know its nachos but we seriously live 3 mins away! The pulled pork by far is the best thing on their menu in my opinion. But also even ordering more food this time my bill was only $38. I knew it had to be over last time. But anyways I typically don't leave reviews this long but overall very disappointing both times. Maybe if we were there having a few drinks we weren't notice the...
Read moreThis was probably the worst dining experience we've had in years. Our friends love the Orem Wing Nutz and our other dining option fell through, so we decided to try it as a group. Unfortunately I couldn't eat most of my dinner. The burger came with tomatoes when I'd asked for it without, my husband got ranch instead of the fry sauce he asked for, and I was given ranch (which I don't eat) with my southwest salad. Despite paying extra for garlic on my burger, it had no flavor. It also had no condiments! Not even ketchup. And since our waitress was absent for our whole meal, we had to go ask for ketchup, mustard, and the fry sauce we'd originally asked for. Turns out they didn't have mustard at all (it's a wings/burger place!), I forgot to ask for a different dressing and so just couldn't eat my side bc the waitress was still gone, and then when we finally went and asked for our bill too, they tried to charge us for the condiments! Even my (expensive) cocktail had been horribly made, so that nickel-and-diming was the last straw. We NEVER complain to waiters, but I had to tell ours (who the staff had finally tracked down for us) how unhappy I was with my meal. To her credit, she took full responsibility and removed the burger from the bill. But our night was ruined, and I left still hungry, having eaten a third of my meal. Even the nachos were forgettable. I make better nachos at home, even with canned veggies. Overpriced, terrible service, and terrible food. This was our first experience with Wing Nutz and will certainly...
