Had a horrible experience at this location last night.
To start, all the utensils and plates looked dirty (see butterknife image below). It may be because they were washed with hard water, but it still made us a bit uneasy to eat. We decided to just deal with it because ALL the utensils looked this way. Asking for different ones wouldn't fix the issue if they just aren't washing them well.
My wife's first soup came out with an actual dirty spoon though. Dried food was on it. We told the waiter, who seemed bothered by us asking for a different spoon. Not even apologetic. Whatever. The spoon was replaced.
Her second soup came out with a pink stringy piece of what looked to be plastic in it. We told the waiter we weren't looking for a refund or complaining just for the sake of it, but were concerned with what was in our food. They took it and went back to talk to the manager. They returned a bit later and said, "I talked to the manager. They said we use plastic bags for the soup and this was a piece of that."
That was all the waiter said. No apologies, admitting it was a bad mistake, or sentiment of it shouldn't happen again. Oh well, my suspicions were confirmed; plastic. It looked like the stringy pink plastic thread that's sometimes on the edge of ziploc bags - about 1-1.5 inches long
At this point we have both entirely lost our appetites. Keep in mind that the entire evening, with each complaint, I was very cordial. I was always asking my questions with a smile, because I know these issues aren't the waiters fault. Adressing an issue with viritol never solves anything.
To be honest, I did expect the manager to come out and apologize, or at least talk with us a bit considering how bad our experience was. But nope, nothing. No one at the restaurant seemed to care.
I never expect a restaurant to be perfect every time, but attitude goes a long way. I don't think we will be coming back to this...
Read moreTook the family out for Sunday dinner because we hadn’t in a while with all that is going on. They usually all pick Olive Garden for their birthdays so we celebrated four at once. After waiting in the car until our table was ready the four of us were seated at a tiny table in the corner that is really only big enough for two to sit comfortably...especially after the waitress told us they wouldn’t be able to remove anything from the table until we were finished.. so they left a little serving tray near our table to put the salad plates and bowls on when we were finished. I know they are working under some restrictions right now but there were several other larger tables available at the time that would have been more comfortable for us a still maintaining social distance. Anyway...
Everyone’s entrees were fine. The complaint part is that we only got one basket of bread sticks which came with the first bowl of salad. Four sticks... one each. Then the salad, which is normally our favorite part had clearly been dressed for quite some time. Soggy lettuce isn’t our thing. We thought it was an isolated incident but when we asked for more salad it came out good and soggy too. The salad should be dressed just before serving and tossed at the table. This led me to believe there is just a large bowl of already dressed salad in the back. Very unsatisfying. Then we asked for more bread and it took nearly 15 minutes to get more and by then we were already finished with our meals. Drink refills came well after we would have liked too. I’m a good tipper and I still tipped the server but we did not enjoy this meal. I know it’s just Olive Garden but the quality has gone down and I’m not sure this new Spanish Fork location has ever been up to the standards of other locations. Kinda disappointing...it’s not cheap. It could be a while before...
Read moreservice was TERRIBLE tonight at SF Olive Garden. The waitress, who did not have a name tag on, so I can't put her on blast, took 10 minutes just to out our appetizer order in. That's after taking our drink order, telling me I could sample a wine, then forgetting to scan my ID and put my drink order in, not once, not TWICE, but SEVERAL times. When our appetizer came, my kids still didn't have drinks, and I still hadn't ORDERED a drink. We ordered our meals, ate our appetizer, asked several times for our drinks, and waited. When our food came out we STILL didn't have drinks, I STILL hadn't ordered a drink, my ID still sat where she asked me to set it on the table, and my kids were getting anxious. One of my kids' meals was forgotten, one of my other kids' (it's her birthday and she chose the restaurant) order was all screwed up, and I still hadn't ordered a drink. The manager, Xavier, asked how things were going. When we explained how upset we were, he did everything he could to accommodate us. Took my drink order, scanned my ID, Comped our appetizers and the missing kid's meal, brought the kids' drinks (they were still wrong, and never got refills, but at least we finally got them).
This waitress still never apologized for her behavior, she kept coming around, but never apologized or corrected anything. She did offer to take a family photo, and took our dessert orders.
Thanks God my 10 year old is a forgiving soul. Her birthday dinner was almost very sad I heard other tables complaining as well, and the manager was also trying to accommodate them. I hope this isn't how they train new waitresses, just let them go and then correct the mistakes they made. We were there about 2 hours and only about 30 of...
