GameStop — Attraction in Sparks

I used to love going to gamestop, you get to buy your game stuff and talk games with the employees. My visit today really rubbed me the wrong way. We were talking about the new mortal kombat coming out in April and how I had bought it through the Microsoft store and he was sitting there telling me I dont get certain things I would have gotten if I would have bought instore. If employees are trying to sell their product up, they need to make sure what they're telling customers before just trying to make a sell. Also told me xbox one controllers cannot be taken apart yet gamestop sells accessories for changing out buttons, joysticks, diagonal pads etc. I do not think I will use gamestop again, I dont want to be lied to when I'm trying to spend money. Never had a problem with gamestop before today, lieing to a paying customer is not good...

I come in and wait patiently for some help. There was no "Welcome to GameStop" or friendly demeanor. Just doing their jobs. That was until a gentleman was locked for not bringing in his ID and the associate talked down to him like he was stupid. Following that, I was told that a copy of my ID can't be accepted while I'm waiting to spend my day at DMV for a replacement. Apparently this particular establishment is more secure than my bank, who told me this could be accepted as long as I had front and back. But reality is,.. all I have to do is give my phone number and these guys will go over my entire purchase history with me for the last five transactions and read the name that pulls up on the screen instead of asking me my name to 'verify' that it's me. I can do ALL this, but I can't spend money on...

I try to do my best to stay away from Gamestop but since I was in the area and did not have much time I went in. I went to see if they still had a pokemon let's go Pikachu bundle. They told me no unless I pre-ordered it. They then followed up to tell me I can buy the game and the Pokeball plus separate but it would be $10 and that I should do it because it is sold out everywhere. I said no thank you and went to Best Buy where they had plenty left. I found this to be really shady because the game had just come out that day how does every other store still have some but not Gamestop. If I didn't know better I would have done it and it just makes me wonder how many parents or grandparents will go in and be told the same thing and buy it because they don't...
