Bone Appetit BBQ Grill — Restaurant in Sparks

I read about Bone Appetit BBQ moving to Sparks so I had to try it out. The wife and I arrived shortly after noon and the place was almost empty. We quickly perused the menu and ordered. Order at the counter, get a number and sit. The wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries while I wanted a grilled chicken sandwich with a salad bar.

There is a self service beverage station that was clean and well organized.

The surprise was a fairly complete salad bar. There were enough ingredients to make a darn good salad. Plus the bowl given for a side salad was large. The only complaint would be that I personally didn't enjoy the ranch dressing.

We received a sample of the potato salad and chocolate cherry custard. Both were very good and different from everywhere else

When the sandwiches appeared, we were again surprised at the amount of protein in each. The sandwiches were good but we both didn't enjoy the BBQ sauce on the meat. This is personal as we both like sweet BBQ as opposed to tangy BBQ. When we go back, the sauce will be ordered on the side.

I recently hired Bone Appetite Bar-B-Que Grill for an event, and they delivered exceptional service from start to finish. Their team executed flawlessly—arriving on time and serving guests efficiently with zero delays or shortages.

The food was outstanding. Their smoked brisket was perfectly tender with a rich, caramelized bark, the pulled pork was juicy and well-seasoned, and the sides (especially the mac & cheese and tangy collard greens) were crowd favorites. Multiple guests commented on the quality, and several asked for their catering info afterward.

What truly impressed me was their staff—professional, courteous, and proactive in addressing needs without being intrusive. As an event professional, I’ve worked with many caterers, and Bone Appetite stands out for both their culinary skill and operational reliability. 10/10...

I realize that they just opened so maybe they don’t have their stuff together yet. Took over half an hour for my food to get to me despite not being very busy… food was ok. I think they have potential but staff needs to be better trained. Staff is young and isn’t rude or anything but do not understand customer service either. They look bored, tired and have no common sense when it comes to service. They act like they have been at the same job for years when it’s be open less than a week. They gave me an ice cream because of the wait but honestly I don’t eat ice cream. Coming from a former restaurant manager. Give the disgruntled customer a choice, would you like ice cream or another option other than a “take this ice cream” cus we messed up. Not everyone likes sweets.
