The walk around is nice, and the area is gorgeous. They have a play area that is fenced in, so you can keep track of your little ones. The play area has lots of things to keep the kids entertained. It's unique! Not a lot of parks offer so much to keep their imaginations wandering. We were very impressed! If you bring a dog, there is a spot to let them off of the leash to wander and explore. Keep in mind that even though the majority of the area is fenced in, the fence does not meet the water and there is a large area they can run through to get back on to the main walk. There are ducks, geese and lots of squirrels running around. So be prepared for your dog to run off to try to make friends. There is a place where you can leave cans of food for those who need it. ❤️ A new addition is being added on for anyone who truly appreciates America and all we stand for. When we went there, they were preparing the area for the unveiling, I believe, on July 1st. Stop in and check it out. It brought proud tears to my eyes. The Constitution, Articles of Confederation, and the Declaration of Independence are included. It's not just part of history class. There is a reason they were made. Read them. They apply to today as much as they did when they were written. So much to be thankful for. The Marina has places for fishing and from what we heard from a local fisherman, they keep the water well stocked with fish. There's a swimming area and geocache spots. Part of the marina is right next to Legends. Check it out. There's something for everyone.

I love this park. Despite its large size, it's easy to miss if you don't know it's there. There's a large body of water which is filled naturally by ground water. In fact, two million gallons are pumped out each day. There are nice paved walking/biking paths with lights and benches along the way. Beautiful trees and sandy beaches with volleyball nets. Lots of geese, ducks, and seagulls. Even a dog beach where dogs can swim. There's a seasonal snack bar and it would be nice to see a more formal restaurant/bar open since Anchor's Bar and Grill closed. A very beach feel in an otherwise non-beach area. Cute homes along the water, some with their own small dock.

It was a nice day outside, but very windy w winds of 20 mph. The sky was cloudy and it was snowing for a bit while we were there (nice surprise). We ordered take out and ate at one of the benches, walked around to enjoy the views and many birds that were there. I've been to this place a few times and it's always nice to walk around the marina to get some fresh air and exercise. The downfall is that some people don't social distance when passing by and they don't wear masks. Doesn't matter if you're outside or inside, you should wear one to protect yourself and others you're around.

Great walking/bike path with lots of parking. Lots of apt construction going on (east side of lake), but the west side of the park has a great view of snow topped mountains. Path circles a lake that's approximately 1.5 miles per lap. There's swimming (open in the summer), dog park, playground, fishing, kayak rentals, coffee shop along the path, and concessions area (closed when I was there in early April). This place was steady with people of all ages enjoying the path or sidewalk benches and most were very friendly and acknowledged me during as we lapped each other. Lovely place!

Nice place for a solitary stroll in the morning, or a crowded one in the afternoon. Has a huge brand new playground, picnic areas, a beach w volleyball nets, and grass areas (watch out for duck droppings though). You can take out your paddleboard or fishing boat, or cast from the docks. Marina even has a concession stand with Hotdogs & Root Beer Floats. Plus you can stop along the pathway at the Water Bar and have an adult beverage on their huge patio. Really nice, no/low cost place in Sparks to bring ones family for the day.

My go-to place to walk and bring my son to the park to play! Usually, it is easy to find parking during the week, and it is sometimes more difficult on weekends if there is an event. The parks and recreation staff are very friendly - I see them constantly driving around to clean up trash and keep the park well maintained. I love that there is a nice walk path to go around the water, plenty of benches and trash receptacles all around, and multiple bathrooms should you need them.
