This place is a hidden gem run by a group of dynamic women with backgrounds in professional dance who are extremely good at what they do and super fun to work with! Update- Since I posted the above review back in 2014, Central Studio has opened a 2nd location at 7731 Clayton Road, just West of Hanley, offering Pilates, Gyrotonic, and Thai stretching sessions. Read moreWhen they answered the phone, I was wholly unprepared for a studio to actually accept me as a person with a disability for actual dance lessons. The closest I had seen before was a class that was primarily for social reasons, and I have plenty of friends. They helped me figure out that beginner tap with Rachel would be my best bet, and informed me there was a class I could get a free trial of that same night! I was in so much pain and it felt like a terrible day, but going to class was incredible! Rachel was amazing, and so were the other members of the class! We all kept our masks on, and everyone was really nice and encouraging. I wanted to take the class to get my brain to connect up with my feet better, and I am already seeing progress! I discovered Central Studio over 5 years ago when I started a Pilates training/certification program. Throughout my training and beyond I felt supported, encouraged and mentored. I recommend Central to everyone from those who would like to start pilates or those who have been doing for years! Although I’m not involved in the children and adult dance programs, I like to watch the yearly production. I also can’t leave out the Collective Motion professional dance company.
