I had heard from previous students about their experience with Faded, but I wanted to have my own experience. I decided to give them a chance despite what I had been hearing from the people around me. I had very long curly hair and made sure to call and ask if that's something they can cut- they said yes. When I arrived, the staff was very nice. I appreciated the conversation throughout, it made me feel better about the situation. I showed them a picture of how I wanted my hair, and the stylist did her best to get it there. My only thing is I felt like she didn't know what she was doing. She was kinda cutting here and there without a good plan. I felt like I had to have a lot of say in the direction that my hair was being cut. At a typical salon, you maybe give your input once? But I was really worried the way my hair was going and had to give a lot of input. Overall, uncomfortable experience. I left the salon looking pretty wack.. I can't even dare to share a picture, but I wanted to take a shower to see how it would really look. After the shower, I realized I actually liked the length on top, but the sides were so much longer than the rest of my head it made me sick. To add to that, one side is about an inch longer than the other.
Anyways, I am going to look at getting a friend to fix up the cut or maybe even go to Great Clips to just shave everything down.
I would think twice about coming here with long or curly hair. Save your $35 and find a place that is dedicated...
Read moreI'd worn locs for 36 years and my hair was weighing me down physically and otherwise. So, I was beyond ready for my locs to go. I was really concerned about the thinning I've experienced over the years, especially from traction alopecia caused by years of wearing my locs up in styles that caused tension on my scalp and hairline. I can hardly put into words how free and happy I feel as a result of the haircut I received today from Katrina. She is simply the best. It took me a while to find the barber/stylist that I felt I could trust. Katrina listened carefully to my concerns, made me feel completely comfortable, and quickly gained my confidence as she talked to me about my hair. Her confidence became my confidence as she assured me that we could accomplish the cut I desired. I couldn't be more pleased with the result and the overall service I received from the time I walked through the door. I've made a standing two week appointment with Katrina. Aaron (the other barber on duty) was finishing up a patron, who had a smile on his face when he got up from the chair. So, I would recommend considering him for your hair needs, too. Check out 'Faded...
Read moreEDIT: The owner of the shop contacted me and came in on her closed day (Sunday) to fix my hair. She did an amazing job and talked me through Solutions for the regrowth. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I'd been here before and went to Kristen? I think thats her name, she's a woman and she did amazing. But I went yesterday to a man named Aaron and he butchered my hair. I've been growing my hair from a bald state for 2.5 years. I got an undercut from Kristen and it looked amazing. Well this man, all he had to do was follow her lines but instead he takes his razor and drags them up through my ponytail, shaves off one side of my baby hairs and gives me the worst fade I'd ever seen. I am a woman with long curly hair and now I am at a great clips so they can shave me bald once again. I would not recommend going here unless you're seeing the blonde lady. I wish I would have fought back and not paid. I'm literally...
