The St. Louis Zoo was great. Free (except for parking... $10). There is a cost for the Children's zoo inside, but we didn't do it. My daughter is especially fond of penguins and the penguin exhibit did not disappoint. You can get very up close with them (almost too close) and their keeper was out cleaning and answered ALL of my daughters many questions and was especially nice and knowledgeable. The zoo wasn't crowded for January 2nd, but the penguin exhibit was packed.

River’s Edge takes you on a fun 3/4 of a mile trail across various habitats through four major river systems along rivers in South America, Asia, Africa and Missouri. There are some bathroom stops at about the halfway point on the trail. The elephants were definitely the highlight for me because there were so many of them and they are just such majestic beasts. The trail is shaped beautifully with rock and water features in between the habitats.

No admission fee, parking $10 per car. Winding paths through various setting include waterfalls, little vistas, ponds and stream settings. We were there on a slow day, misty, drizzly. It seemed peaceful and reflective. The animals seemed healthy, active and content. We hadn't ever seen hippos and penguins as close as we did here. The artic exhibit, puffins and penguins is fantastic, but dress warmly for it. It is chilly!

Beautiful I will go back I just wish they would bring out the animals 20 minutes before we get there because we only had seen three animals that were out we were told that they sometimes don't want to come out because it's hot well it wasn't hot that day it was nice and I know when I go to our zoo here in Decatur Illinois I get there early and they're starting to send the animals out and they run outside so I know that is not true there might be sometime that they might be lazy and don't want to go out but not very often they need to have them out at least 10 or 20 minutes before the crowd comes there is other people complaining about that too but I would go back it was beautiful I suggest not to spend very much in there cuz it is expensive but it's a nice trail to go through if you want to walk and lose weight or just walk or whatever it's nice and you have nice scenery it's wonderful but like I said they need to get those animals out sooner I think it's whoever is in charge is lazy and don't want to get them out...

I loved the entire park. We went to the Zoo, and to the Museum. We walked across the bridge, and around the trails. We also chased a child who was with us and he seemed to be having even more of a blast than we were...

Both the Zoo and Museum are free, you just have to pay to see the exhibitions at the museum and you have to pay to do extra stuff (like eat at the cafe) at the Zoo.

Both the Museum and Zoo were clean and very safe. There looks to be ver little your kid can do to get into danger unless you’re not keeping an eye on them and they decide to climb the rocks or the railings. That’s on you...

But it’s a great place to take kids, teach them about art and animals, or take them on the...

The Rivers Edge, is a relatively new addition to the St Louis Zoo and features a paved pathway which leads you through environments found on different continents and houses Wildlife found in those continents. The animal enclosures allow an up close viewing experience while at the same time providing a very natural and realistic habitat. Along the way you will find several other interesting attractions what you can stop at and enjoy, as well as, a very natural Missouri cave environment complete with a large glass wall aquatic...
