Charlotte’s Web — Attraction in St. Matthews

I have shopped at Charlotte’s Web for years and have tolerated the less than friendly vibe the store workers offer. Today, I purchased a file cabinet that looked new and was in the section with their new inventory. When their one nice employee helped me load the file cabinet in my car, we both discovered there was a large piece of the back bottom of the cabinet that was missing and was clearly damaged. I went back into the store to talk about the damage and the worker very curtly informed me that they were aware of the damage and it was priced accordingly. There was no apology for the confusion or offer to make the situation right. They simply did not care. If they had just taken the time to engage in a conversation with me, they would have learned that I wanted the file cabinet regardless of the damage!!! Finds in the store were great, there is a nice guy that works there that was helpful. Beware if your native language is not English or if you look “foreign”, my partner asked for a basket (I was watching from across the room), one of the lady owners was very condescending and described a basket to him like he was stupid. He proceeded to ask how much an item was, she said “it’s not priced yet, so” and turned away. My husband is fluent in 5 languages and the vibes the lady was giving off were very off putting and snooty. I hate to give this review because I know more people will come to this great little secret place ever time I tell someone about them no one has heard of it. It's a true Jewel quality used furniture and a staff of help that makes shopping a pleasure.
