Went for my birthday and hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had at an "upscale restaurant". And the absolute audacity to charge those prices...that just added the insult to injury. It was disrespectful to my friend's wallet.
Idk who is running that kitchen but they need to find someone else.
From the very beginning with the appetizers down to the last course, every dish was as bland and boring as could be.
For an appetizer we ordered the Beef Carpaccio. It was bland and creamy. The cream did nothing to add to the dish. It was supposed to be a horseradish cream...not a sliver of horseradish was in there. Not a drop of salt. I ordered the grilled Caesar salad and it was adequate. The Caesar dressing was pretty good and I liked the char from the grilled romaine but I think they overdid it because part of the lettuce had more of a texture like steamed spinach, which wasn't great.
The entrees were embarrassing. I have never left that much food on a plate before. I ordered the Chicken with risotto and my friend ordered the pork chop with brussels. Chicken was cooked well, nice and juicy but didn't have a single ounce of flavor. Risotto was nothing more than chewy rice floating in insipid broth. It was unbelievablly bad. Her pork chop was dry, flavorless and she had to saw through it with the knife, shredding the pork. I'm pretty sure they flash fried it and then added grill marks? Idk. The brussels sprouts were undercooked and once again, bland. The name of the game is salt and whoever made these dishes was not familiar with it.
With all that said, the server was very friendly and attentive. He knew it was my birthday and he tried his best to make sure it was a pleasant experience. When he asked how it was I had no choice but to tell him. I made it clear that it wasn't about me trying to get free food, tho he still comped a good chunk of the bill, it was about the chef needing to know that they have to do better. I feel bad because I know the server felt embarrassed but it wasn't his fault and we still took care of him because he provided excellent service.
The worst part is that we left there starving because we didn't eat anything because it was just that bad. And we actually had to go somewhere else after already spending $100. Would have been $160 had he not comped it.
I don't know if they just had a bad night and this is a one off situation or what, but I will never voluntarily eat there again or recommend to anyone. We had a good...
Read moreWent here for a special occasion with family and the experience was not great like it had been when we visited years ago. Servers were kind, but not quick to check on us. Our main server didn’t really know much about the menu or alcohol offered. We asked questions about appetizers on the menu and it felt like the server didn’t know what to say other than the ingredient list. Sometimes it’s just good to hear what is popular or maybe if the staff has some favorites. Good conversations with a server can make a dining experience feel more genuine and that the staff believes the food is actually good. It just felt like there was a disconnect between the restaurant’s fine dining image and the actual food/dining experience.
Our reservation time to leaving the restaurant was over a period of 2 hours and we didn’t get dessert. They put our family of 9 around a small circular table and the chairs were super close together. It felt like we didn’t have much room to move and the chairs are unbelievably uncomfortable. The temperature in the restaurant was perfect though so that was good.
The food we received was not worth the money spent. The olives and almonds appetizer was really uninteresting other than the almonds having a pretty good flavor to them. The olives just tasted like olives in brine that I’ve had many times over. I don’t know if I was expecting too much from olives and almonds, but it was just kind of boring for the price. It was $58 for a filet mignon. All three that we ordered showed up over cooked and hard to cut through. We didn’t want to send back the three overdone steaks because it had taken over an hour to get our entrees and we all wanted to keep dinner moving. Many people got asparagus with their entrees and out of the ~3 asparagus stalks they received on each of their plates, 1/3 were fibrous and unable to be eaten.
We wouldn’t have minded staying for the two hours if it was comfortable to sit there and the food was good. I think this place needs a major review of their staff and chef(s). The prices just need to go down if they don’t...
Read moreI came here on a date and we decided to sit on the patio. It was a bad first impression when we walked outside and had to awkwardly stand around while they tried to find another chair so we could both sit down. Once we sat I noticed my silverware and cup were dirty. We were given water within a few minutes, but waited about 15 more minutes for our waiter to come take a drink order. It started to rain a bit, obviously not blaming the restaurant for this, but the staff showed no interest in helping people feel comfortable. We sat in the rain while I saw an older woman at another table with her friends trying to drag an outdoor umbrella to their table while the staff walked around. We grabbed our drinks and went inside where we awkwardly stood for about 5 minutes to be acknowledged and reseated. The whole experience was uncomfortable and the staff was unprofessional. For such an expensive restaurant I wouldn’t expect the staff to be wearing tennis skirts and dirty shoes. After ordering a bottle of wine priced at over twice its actual value and two appetizers my date felt uncomfortable and didn’t want to get entrees so we went to another restaurant. Service was so slow that someone had to walk inside to the bar from the patio to order more wine. The waiter brought our bill and took payment without saying a word to either of us or saying anything as we walked out the door. It appeared everyone in the restaurant was getting equally apathetic service, but at least the appetizers...
