Beautiful covered bridge, perfect for photos and the relaxing vibe. There were families, children and couples enjoying the looping trail that brings you across the bridge - and then across from it slightly downstream. I'd been forewarned that a homeless person sleeps in the area. But like the other park visitors, she kept to herself. The only exception was when some young adults woke her up and taunted her. She was rightly upset by their callous rudeness. Thankfully other visitors went and chastised the instigators rather than the woman. Then everyone went back to doing their own thing. It really drove home the point I remember reading on t-shirts years ago:. Mean people suck. The serene atmosphere EVERYONE was enjoying was disrupted by two people who just couldn't resist the urge to pick on someone defenseless To get back on track, my point is this:. Her presence did not diminish the afternoon for anyone. But a few people who don't know how to behave did. I wish my friend had said nothing to me about her being there. She has a right to enjoy the park the same as the rest of us. Perhaps more so because she needed a place of refuge and didn't have the options the...

However since last January the hiking/walking/nature trail portion has been fenced off for an unlabeled reason. There have also been people camped out in the covered bridge so that it is less usable than in years past. When are was there last week there was someone walking laps around the park yelling in a way that made me feel uncomfortable.
Talking with a friend that I visited with we both decided that we would not go to the park alone any longer and would not be there alone with lots of kids. If you want to go, bring a...
Read moreWe have been visiting here for many years and it is always a good time. The playground is fun for the kids, the covered bridge is beautiful and picturesque, there is another bridge over the creek and a little woodsy area that is great for taking photos. I have brought many clients here to have their photos done! Recently the trail area has been fenced off, which is sad, because the fence is a huge eyesore and we would have liked to explore that area a little more. Bathrooms are well maintained and clean every time we visit, which is a huge plus with multiple kiddos. Cherry blossom trees are gorgeous in the spring! The lighting here is amazing in the...
