Honestly really disappointed. We used to come here when we were younger but this was the first visit after the ownership changed and I honestly didn't want to eat any of the food that was brought out.

We ordered the family dinner with orange chicken and Mongolian beef we asked if the shrimp and veggies could be a part of it but was told no. (The shrimp and veggies was a dollar more than the beef and we would have been happy to pay extra but it wasn't offered) we still ordered it as a separate dish.

The Mongolian beef was okay. A lot of onions and not a lot off beef but flavor wise was pretty much as expected.

The shrimp and veggies was also okay. The sauce was a little too thick but again flavor was okay. There wasn't a lot of shrimp but mostly veggies.

The orange chicken is the reason I gave this a one star. We sent this back and instead of taking it off the bill (we did not eat it) the only option we were given was to choose a different meal to take home. At this point I was just done and wanted to pay and go home. None of the food was really up to par and I wasn't expecting great but I kid you not the orange chicken was inedible. When we sent it back the waitress told us that we probably didn't like it because they don't make the sauce with orange juice... I don't know how to make orange chicken but I at least expect it to taste faintly like orange. Even the smell was off the only thing I could compare it to was melted crayons.

Needless to say if you made it this far, my family and I won't be back. I really really was hopeful it would be good and similar to how it used to be but to me it was down right inedible besides the Mongolian beef my husband said that was good from what we got. So my dad was really wanting to get chinese food and so we decided to go to the red apple and we sat down the second to back table it took 30-45 minutes to even hear anything from a waitress we finally ordered and were waiting for our food and drinks (at this point two other people have ordered and left) and were waiting my dad continues to get more and more mad his meal comes with a soup so eventually we stops a waitress and says wheres our drinks and my meal came with a soup? The waiter says oh let me get those for and I'll just give you all a soup. So she comes out about 5 minutes with our food, at this point about 30 minutes after we ordered. The soup wasn't bad but my dad's was very cold like it had been sitting for hours. About 10 minute after we got our waters and soups we get the appetizer... THE APPETIZER!!! A simple large thing of shrimp ngl thar shrimp isn't to bad. And we finished it at this point we had been there for close to a hour in a half, and about 5 people have came and ordered ate and left including a big group of people during the time we were there so my dad was mad he called over the waitress and said can we just pay for the shrimp and leave please and said sorry and acted like she didn't even care she was very disrespectful. If I could give 0 stars for being really disappointed? I would in a heart beat! What was once so delicious, large in food quantity, best in price, has gone downhill in every way! food turned yuck! Prices are overcharged for bad quality, bland food now, way less in portion, how the food is made is completely turned a 180! went down hill.. I couldn’t understand why either, then I was told new people took over at red apple. Not to mention, nothing on the menu is the same.. what I normally would order isn’t even optional combination wise… if things don’t get better with their food quality? It will not suprise me of this place shuts down within a year or less!! Or their customer base drops significantly! you can’t even do DoorDash anymore either! Isn’t even an option now!
