D & E Furniture — Attraction in Sterling

My father purchased a powered chair from here on 11-10-22. The power only works for the back reclining and leg rest on the chair. He has had some major medical issues come up and needs a lift chair. The chair is basically brand new as he spent almost a month rehabbing in an assisted living facility. The person that answered the phone was about as dry as burnt toast and told me "We are a new furniture store. It's too hard to sell used. Sorry". In this day and age, a little empathy goes a long way and this store has absolutely zero. The chair cost my father over $1,000 dollars. We would have taken half of that to put towards a lift chair in order to get my father what he needs to live a comfortable, safe life. We looked for several months for the perfect recliner for our home. We made two trips to D & E to find a chair that was not only comfortable but also beautiful. We were greeted warmly, given the layout of the store and then left on our own to shop at our leisure. We finally settled on a power, remote control Lazy Boy that is comfortable and compact with lovely fabric to match our other furnishings. Brad was very helpful, giving us information we never would have found shopping on the internet. Staff were not overly intrusive, yet helpful and informative when needed. While I didn't buy anything today, it was a great experience browsing and I will definitely be back later for a dining set

Edit to add: their bathrooms, while they clearly haven't been updated in a while, are the definition of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I appreciated that there was decent toilet paper and thick paper towels available that didn't disintegrate upon getting wet.
