Champs On Light Street — Restaurant in Sterling

I am the manager at Champs and I am just going to say thank you for the good reviews and going to address the negative ones, we have hands down the best entertainment in the Sauk Valley area, from great local bands, to Nashville Recording Artists there is nothing repetitive about our entertainment! As far as the staff being slow I completely disagree, as I am one of the bartenders and know for a fact people never stand around and wait for drinks, yes when there are hundreds of people in there its not possible to wait on everyone at once but we bust our butts to get people served in a timely manner so I personally take offense to that because I know how hard everyone there works!! As far as being dark, the downstairs is far from dark, we have done alot of remodeling to both the upstairs and downstairs to make it more well lit, yes it is darker upstairs as it should be, it is a nightclub, the 2 bars are lit and the stage is lit well so people can see the bands! I would hope if anyone has a problem they will directly bring it to my attention personally rather than posting false negative...

Dog water venue. Canceled my God daughters 1st birthday. She’s been looking forward to having a soirée there since her conception. Don’t book your children’s parties (or any parties for that matter) here if you don’t want your children to cry for disappointment. Champs is everything that’s wrong with America. This was the first time I've been there since they've redone the place. The banquet hall was beautiful and a very nice place for a reception or gathering. The exposed brick walls were my favorite part. The food was good and service was good....
