Excellent quality in general, and especially considering the price. I find most Aldi brands to be just as good as the name brand counterparts (Doritos and Fruitloops are the two exceptions I've found, though I don't buy them because the difference is not worth the 200% price increase to me.) Produce is of good quality, though it is worth noting that because of the incredibly low prices, sometimes berries go out of stock in the summer.
The parking lot is not cluttered with carts. In fact, I've never seen a single unattended cart thanks to the locking quarter system they use: Put in a quarter to get a cart, and get it back when you return it to the stall. Bags are not provided, so one much bring reusable ones (which is better for the environment anyway,) or use boxes from the store.
Service wise they are quite busy between 4 and 6:00PM in the evenings, and customers do need to wait in lines. That being said, I am always greeted politely by the staff there, and they check the items as quickly as possible.
The only complaint I have which makes the service level less than excellent is that sometimes the staff waits too long to open up another register when the lines start getting a bit long.
Overall, this is the best grocery store I've shopped at: As good or better than Costco and Sams club prices, but no membership charge or requirement of buying in bulk. Every college town...
Read moreSo today I went to this Aldi because generally they’re well stocked. RIGHT as I walked in there was an associate with blue hair was pulling one of their big carts, I’m assuming unloading truck (I used to work grocer retail). I quickly step around them since they seemed busy but they cut me off and impatiently told me “I’m going to need ALL this aisle” and waved their hand so frantically they actually hit me. Like flat out whacked me. I get that it was an accident but they didn’t even apologize. I was so shocked, and my husband was ready to step in but I just hurried back to my family and waited for them to move. Clearly they can work on their customer service skills and honestly, probably could’ve waited a moment. This was the main aisle entrance to the store and I wasn’t the only one walking through but I was apparently the only one in their way. There have been other times where associates checking us out rush through our order so fast they literally toss and throw our order, which seems to be an Aldi thing. However, at least the last two times I’ve come in we get a nice cashier (didn’t catch his name) who is always really amicable. Wouldn't let me use the cart I was already using that had my child, purse, drinks underneath and bags in it and instead looked at my like I was dumb so I said fine and moved all my things. Then she proceeded to throw my food around and smashed half of it! Then when I paid all the change she handed me fell on the ground and she didn't even offer to help pick it up just walked away. Worst customer service I've ever encountered at an Aldi. Won't be coming back to this one great prices but set up is not ideal and got clogged up in the isles...hope something is...
