Was interested in ordering a futon and mattress. Had gone to Slumberland previously, (Nov. 20th) and was told it would arrive towards the end of December. I was okay with that. Was told I would need to put half down before the item to be ordered. Scott quoted me, roughly $700. That was with the current discount and 25% off sale. So on Nov 24th, I returned to the Stevens Point Slumberland to order my new futon. Scott, the salesman I had worked with previously was not working, so another employee was going to place my order. She advised me then, that the mattress for the futon would be available the end of December, but the futon itself, would not arrive til sometime in March. I explained that I was not informed this. She said, maybe Scott hadn't read the pre-order correctly. She suggested that I would probably want "full delivery" on this item. That would be, a person/s would bring the futon/mattress to my house and set it up for me, otherwise they would just leave it on the porch, and I could assemble it. I chose the "full delivery"! I was quoted the price of $99.99. After going back and forth between checking other arrival dates for other futons I did not like, I had the Rep place the order for the futon, who's arrival would be in March. After totaling up the bill, it now came to $830.78. The $350.cash that I brought was no longer the 50% down payment. I was not happy, and the Rep offered no alternative. Luckily, I had extra money with me and paid in cash, $430. Matter taken care of. I left the store, an unsatisfied customer. After looking at the invoice, I found that the full delivery service was not $99.99 as quoted, but $119.99. Should I find another futon someplace else, will definitely order it from the store. Read moreWe purchased a mattress set recently and had several things go wrong, one of which was that the wrong type of box spring was ordered and delivered. While the correct one was on order we found that the mattress was too hard - this is guaranteed for an exchange if we purchase the required mattress protector which we did. When we told them that we would like to do the exchange we were given a hard time (after all we did lay on it in the store - for a few minutes). But they did order the replacement mattress and delivered it at the same time as the correct box spring. Since the box spring was their error it was supposed to be delivered for free but we still had to pay "delivery" for the mattress exchange - doesn't make sense because we took a delivery date so they didn't have to come twice. And the refund/difference is given in a store credit and there is an additional charge for exchanging! We had been pleased with Slumberland in the past but recently the policy or people have changed. When I wrote to the manager about these issues and others which were in addition to what I listed here I did not even receive an acknowledgment of my letter. Not a pleasant experience. Read moreIf i could give them a half star I would. I purchased a couch on 02/18/2019, the salesman had ensured me that the couch would be available for delivery as soon as I needed it. I gave them a call on 3/1/2019. When I spoke to the salesman he had told me he had sold more couches than he had, in his inventory and was unable to give me a date when he would have more. He gave me a super broad spectrum of sometime in the month of April maybe it will be available. I then asked the salesman if this is a common occurrence at Slumberland furniture, and his response was when they have sales they often over sell. I will never be purchasing anything from this establishment again. He in no way offered a solution to the problem, or any sort of compensation for my troubles.
