Attended a wedding here last night and my heart hurts for the family’s that paid their hard earned money to use this place for their children’s wedding. There were so many things that were not acceptable by any standards.
The food was flat out COLD. The venue “ran out of fish” and just started serving all the guest who order fish, chicken. I’ve never seen this in my life for a venue of that size charging the rates that they charge to have this issue. (Also, someone who actually got their fish before they “ran out” started to eat this COLD fish only to discover it was severely undercooked).
There was no contingency plan in place in the case of rain. The staff ushered everyone out of the country club on to the patio where the cocktail hour was going to take place, which quite honestly there was no cocktail hour due to the POOR management team at this place. Once the sky looked like rain and guest were trying to make their way inside to not get caught outside in the rain, they were met with LOCKED DOORS. After asking a staffer at this venue what’s the plan if it rains I was told “Once the rain starts to fall and we know for sure it’s raining we will open the doors and find somewhere for y’all to go”. Once again unacceptable.
3.JIMMY!!! This person by far was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in the hospitality field. He was visibly rude and disrespectful to his serves and multiple guest including myself. He was seen screaming and degrading his staff in front of guest. He treated us as though he was doing us a favor when we were upset about the running out of food issue and confronted him about it. His response “there’s just no more fish but the chicken will have to do”. Lastly, at the end of the event JIMMY decided to shut the event down exactly 41 minutes early and when confronted about the issue by the people who signed the contract and paid for this place, JIMMY CALLED THE COPS. This was an unnecessary escalation on his behalf but JIMMY could care less. JIMMY’s only concern was that his “country club” members got what they needed. We were definitely and afterthought. I commend all of the staff that work under this man because through it all you still smiled and were pleasant when serving COLD food and being belittled for mistakes you make have made or things completely out of your control.
This place needs to seriously reconsider who they have in charge of certain things. They need not to be in business for events in my option because this experience was beyond unacceptable and seemed to be the NORM for them.
This is a perfect example of how the Afro-American and Afro-Caribbean dollar is treated versus the other persuasion. I’m pretty sure certain things would not have happened or been a thought if the dollar was different. 0 starts if I could I seriously don’t...
Read moreMy family is new to the south side. Initially, I was impressed by the club, especially the food. When I saw a sign advertising a tea party as a potential event members could host, I was excited. My daughter's 10th birthday was quickly approaching and it seemed like a prefect party idea. I have attached pictures of the advertisement. Long story short, I was beyond disappointed at the service the club provided. Actually, I was quite embarrassed. I was promised (and actually signed a contract for) tea sandwiches, a variety of teas, and Petit fours. Instead, I was greeted by a manager on duty, Courtney, who acted as though we were bothering him when we asked to use the elevator for set up. The set up was terrible. For example there were no trays or containers for guests to place their trash and empty soda and tea cups. When I asked for something, I was again met with the same attitude as if I was bothering them. Guest were leaving trash on the window sills ! The set up/display was anything but elegant. They set the sandwiches up on a wooden butcher block. The tea was left in a cheap wooden selection box. The water for the tea was in a coffee dispenser! Yes, the kind they have in a doctors office. Guest had to pump a silver handle to dispense Hot water into a cheap glass mug. I asked for the sandwiches to be kid friendly. They served sandwiches that looked as though nine-year-old cut them. Instead of the small decorated cakes French pastries, my guests were served brownie bars. We paid extra for cake cutting service. The cake cutting was scheduled for 3:30. The party was to end at 4 o'clock. At 3:45, when no one had shown up to help with the cake cutting. I was forced to go to the dining room to look for someone. Finally, at 3:55 PM (just five minutes before the party was scheduled to end, staff showed up so we could sing happy birthday and cut the cake. The whole event was a disaster! Think twice before scheduling anything here. Mara Schlobohm, the event coordinator, apologized and promised I'd hear from management. Two days later I have yet to hear from anyone. I left Mike Davis, the general manager, a voicemail which he didn't return. I would recommend extreme caution to anyone thinking of booking...
Read more3/3/22. A buddy and I, sick of winter in New England decided to jump in the car and head south to the first place we found that was at least 50 degrees and close enough that a sick day drive would be easy. We decided on Ocean City. For golf we searched the Golf Now app and of the 4 or 5 courses in the area Eagles Landing had the highest rating and best reviews. Booked a T time for 8:06 and got there at 7:50. The pro shop staff were great and very friendly. They gave us a few good tips and sent us out. The course is great. We didn't have any real expectations for course conditions given its the beginning of March and were really surprised they were great. They were rolling the greens so they were fast which is nice as many holes have easy approaches so it's all about making putts. The front 6 holes are vastly different from 7-18 which are across the street close to the ocean. Great views and the marsh and ponds added to the back drops. I'll be back during prime season to see the difference , it's only a quick 8 hour drive. The pro shop and facilities are very well kept. The only nit pick I have is the restaurant they have closed at 3 because of off season which I completely understand but a heads up would've helped as we played 36 holes and were starving but the have "lunches to go" like hot dogs and sandwiches so we should've done that before the 2nd round. It's worth the money age if you have Golf Now they have...
