NEVER AGAIN!! I'm new to Atlanta (from CA) and this was by far my WORST experience! My mom raved about her food/experience at a Japanese restaurant on Eagles Landing .....I thought she said "UMI" but later found out it was "UKI" located on the same street. My girlfriend is visiting from Oakland, CA so yesterday (11/26/18) I thought we would give it a try.....1st MISTAKE! We arrive around 4:30pm, I ordered the Chef's special (sauteed vegies, chicken + $8 to add shrimp). 1st thing I notice, sauce is way too sweet, chicken chunks were very hard/dry, tasted like it was nuked in a microwave and definitely was NOT fresh & shrimp tasted funny. While still at our table I began feeling extremely ill (nausea & pain) within 15-20 min of eating my meal I threw up in their restroom.......this was my 1st meal today other than eating grapes for breakfast. At 1st, the manager tried to say that maybe it was something I ate earlier or maybe I have a food allergy and initially made no attempt to rectify the situation. Then I almost threw up on her in an attempt to make it back to the restroom a 2nd time. So she comes behind me and offer me a $20 coupon for my NEXT visit as compensation for my sudden food illness. I told her that there will NEVER be a next visit because you don't get 2 chances to make me sick.....I just wanted my money back to get out of there! The Chef's special was $8.99 + $8 to add shrimp to the dish. The manager credits $8.99 back to my card and tell me "You said the chicken wasn't fresh, you didn't say the shrimp wasn't fresh"....REALLY?? How the Hell would I know which ingredient in my dish gave me food poisoning? It was AFTER I threatened to contact the Georgia Dept of Health to examine their hygiene practices that I was refunded the additional $8 spent on my meal. It's definitely NOT about the money, it's the principle!! I will NEVER return and will be sure to let my relatives know,...
ย ย ย Read moreI had lunch here on Tuesday. I had previously eaten at location that was on Hwy. 155 and just on a whim stopped at this location. The sushi and food was average and the girl that was my server followed protocol (getting drink, taking order upon bring drink, bringing out food and asking about refill, checking on my drink during meal and finally bring my check) that is expected by consumer. This is not against the young lady that served me. When my check was brought to me, I checked the items listed on the check but found a 15% tip had been added. Now, just in case you get the idea that Iโm cheap and just donโt leave tips, get that out of your head! For me not to leave a 20% tip, the service just had to be absolutely horrible. When the service is bad I let the server know by leaving a quarter (.25) tip. To me, that indicates to them how I felt. What they do is actually petty larceny! Most people ignore it because they were going to leave a tip anyway. Understand that that is not the point! The point is that you are telling me I must tip and how much I have to tip! That is actually thief by taking. I want it to be known unless it is stated before you make your purchase and listed on the menu!! Actually, a class action lawsuit could be brought before United - IF it is not listed on the bill when brought to the table, not after your card is ran. If you know of a lawyer that is looking to get noticed by people call and have them file the suit!!! Iโm...
ย ย ย Read moreMy daughter made a Dinner reservation at the UMI Japanese Steakhouse(550 Eagles Landing Pkwy, Stockbridge, Ga) for her 2015 High School Graduation. When we arrived the staff on duty that night (May 29,2015) seem surprised and unprepared to serve us. We had to request water for our silverware and we only had 1 waitress trying to take our order of a party of 25, while the other 3 staff member sat back and try assist. We didn't get meals on time within 1hr of waiting and some the party received to go carry box while the people was still awaiting on there food to come out that they order (2hr wait / because they didn't make enough rice for our party). We were so upset with customer service, some the party cancel their order and we all ask for all check to leave. The staff took another 1hr preparing our separated checks adding 18% Gratuity fee for Customer Service. We refuse to pay such fees. No Owner or Manager on Duty come out and Explain or Apologized about what happen to the Customer Service FAILURE. As we were leaving the table a staff member Julie responded (I was not talking to you please be quiet!) to my Brother (A Customer) when he made a comment. I was shock out of my mind. My Daughter Graduation Dinner was the most Horrible Customer Service...
