It is funny! All the trees are “descendants of” or “related to” but it was a very pleasant little stroll by the lake- a welcome respite en route from northwest iowa to ames. Would enjoy seeing it when they are fully leafed out. The poor Apple tree looks like it won’t be long with us. Some of the plaques have typos and the one about Rommel is historically incorrect;-) but it is a pleasant and peaceful, unique place and we enjoyed learning...
Read moreMy family loves this park the sidewalks are great for walking on an the apple trees are my kids favorite in the summer time the bandshell is great for picnics even if it's raining an the park is smaller but I like it I like that the bathrooms are closer to the playground for younger kids an theres lots more shaded areas here then alot...

There is kind of a lonely narrow stoney beach where the kids can find rocks and shells. The trees in the area are historical as where they were acquired from.
