The year was 2916 the okay they put on was about the life of Samson. How his mother was without a child which was a great embarrassment for her. She prayed to God for a child and her prayers were answered. He was to take the Nazerite vows. Never to take sting drink. Never to cut his hair Samson wasn't happy to marry an Israelite woman he went to the Philistines and was to be married. He out forth the riddle that they couldn't amsl e til they threatened his bride about what the answer was. S begged him til he told her the answer. He was furious and killed 7 Philistines to fulfill the bet they couldn't answer. Later he went to get his wife but she was married to another which made him angry. He caught 200 foxes tying a torch to 2 of them destroying the wheat crop. Phiistinesgit angry at the Father of the bride out them inside their home and burned them all alive. Then they sought to find and kill Samson. Israel was under Philistine rule at the time and told them where he was hiding.Tgry bound him and promised not to kill him but to turn him over to the Philistines. They thought they had him but that wasn't true for the Holy Spirit came upon him the ropes that head him broke like they had no strength to hold him. The picking up a donkeys jawbone he killed 1000 of them and walked away. later he went to another Philistine city to be with a harlotgey thought we'll close the gates to the city and he's trapped. Samson got up in the nit and lifted the gate to the city and carried it for miles and put them down. Then he got that woman Delilah and he didn't tell her the source of his strength right away but she bagged him til he finally tolit was his hair. He got a haircut and got captured. His eyes where put out and he was to grind grainat a mill. Then rh Philstines tiught to bake fun of him at the temple they worshiped in. Samson asked to feel the suoort pillars that held the roof up. his hair hadnt been cut he pledged with God to give him back his strength for the loss of his eyes. The prayer was answered the pillars fell and 10000 Philstines perished asking with Sampson. They use live animals I saw a sheep a camel and a red fox with a lantern tied to its tail. The way the star is built it can hold a two story prop for the play . the stage wraps around the audience! Should you have a chance to go you will be amazed at what they will do to bring a Bible to life. I have not been back though I wanted to go 😓 it's a memory You will...

If you have never seen a Sight & Sound production, do NOT read too much about the experience. Just accept that they are amazing, and you should go asap. The first time i attended a show, i didn't really know what to expect, and talk about having your socks blown off! So really, stop reading and buy tickets.

Please note you will need to buy those tickets well in advance. i was a bit disappointed i could not get the seats i wanted but in all honesty, we could see and hear perfectly fine.

If i had one criticism, it would be the leg room in the seats. i've never liked orchestra seating, but if they have more leg room, i'd consider it. i always go for mezzanine, center, 1st row whenever possible because of the view.

Sight & Sound does one production per year (2025), and this year it's a reprise of their "Noah", apparently it's the 30th anniversary. The vocals are pure delight, the sets - oh, the sets!!! Engineers will be impressed with the staging. i wish i could work for Sight & Sound, but there are no remote positions. i asked.

There is a second location in Branson, Missouri, and they are performing "David" this year.

Expect large crowds. The staff is very efficient, they've got it down to a science. You get a parking space quite quickly. A picture with the lion out front is a given. The lobby is very spacious with merch opportunities as well as the iconic glazed almonds. The first time i tasted one i thought it was just ok, and then it was hard to stop eating them!

Another note: Sight & Sound has VERY strict rules about pictures or vids during the production. This was the only time i've seen a staff person speak so sternly to a patron who was trying to vid the play. You can take pictures before and after but not during. They mean that.

When driving out of the parking lot after the show, most people want to turn left on to Route 896. Get in the right lane, turn on your GPS and you can buzz out. A couple of back roads later, you're home free. Many restaurants stop seating at 7 pm, so if you're attending a 3pm matinee, you'll have just enough time to get to a restaurant. Pick one out in advance and make a bee line for it. We chose Yoder's Restaurant and Buffet because we hadn't been there before and because we thought most of the theatre-goers would opt for a place closer to the theatre. It was a...

Pros: This theater is amazing. It's huge. The parking area is well organized and has employees outside directing traffic. They maintain the landscaping and property very well. Has a neat lion statue popular for pictures. There is security there for safety when first walking in. There are 2 concession stands on each side of the theater with mini stores to buy merch. The menu offers snacks, small food things like hot dogs, pretzels, etc. so don't go there. Thinking when you're getting a big meal. I really enjoyed the glazed almonds fresh. The bathrooms are kept well and clean. They announce when the show is about to start which gives you plenty of time to sit. The theater has a main stage and two side stages. Their lighting and sound Team is very good at what they do. The acting and singing and handling of the animals was very impressive. I saw Noah. The seating is comfortable. I sat in the middle row on the bottom level and highly recommend it. Staff is polite and friendly.

Cons: there really isn't too much to change except for a few things that can make it better. The seating is very tight. So, if you sit in the middle then you'll have a difficult time getting to your chair if everyone else has already sat. They could have made the spaces between the chairs bigger for ease of getting to your chair. Especially with older customers. They don't have spots to put your drinks on for the chairs which would have came handy so you have to put everything on your lap. The pricing of the food and the merch and the tickets to go there are pretty high. This isn't a cheap visit. But I would argue it was well worth it. Be ready to spend around$400 , even just with three people for the whole experience that does not include your traveling if you needed to.

All in all, I would highly highly recommend going here at least once. It's a great experience. Side note, depending on what you're watching some of the material is not for little kids and could be scary. But they do have a family room for kids who are not controllable.

I'm beef and that's...

I am dispise anything to do with a play, but when I heard about this i was intrigued, because once someone brought it up eveyone else who was near the conversation all ranted and raved, I do read the Bible but I find my self often not as focused as I should be, so I was eager to see somthing with a visual take on it. I have to admit I had no expectations on what to expect people said "it's so good you have to see it" driving there was an adventure but once you get to Lancaster which is a beautiful place you appreciate eveything, with that being said as I drove up to the theater it was long with banners hanging from light poles it really makes you excited. The parking lot has people guiding you in, which is really necessary since there is a thousand vehicles there including busses. The theater is massive and truly beautifully sculpted lots of people marvel at it and takes pictures of the statue of the lion. Once you enter you have staff let you know where you need to go they do have a concession stand which is reasonably priced with cinnamon roasted almonds, a big cookie, hot dogs soda, coffee, tea etc. The alonds and cookies were my go to. You can also purchase a cup of the event. I brought up the food because you should get it right away they want all guest to be in the seats 10 mins prior of the show starting. Before the show starts they give a list of rules, now about the show it self its breathtaking and really made me appreciate my 2 plus hours at the theater I saw Noah. The cast in the play are amazing and they use live animals, The environment in the play really can make you so wow especially towards the end and middle. There is some music for those who appreciate that. Let me just say this as I said before I dispise plays yet this one I didn't want to end, I didn't even know how they did the flood effects looked like it was really raining hard on the stage behind the ship. I never once wanted to roll my eyes or wanna leave my seat while it was on, I even booked again for the same show it was that good.
