Alpine Hills Historical Museum and Information Center — Attraction in Sugarcreek

They operate based on donations. You walk into the unknown. We didn't realize how much there actually was! Any age, family fun, couples date, history buffs, go in and experience all there is! They ask you do not touch anything so please be respectful. I enjoyed the TV interactions where you could push a button to start it and the lights would basically light up what the TV was discussing, pretty neat! Great visit! Interesting cultural information, tools, clothes, industries of the people that came to the area and settled. There is a small gift shop inside. Located diagonally across the street from the World's Largest Cuckoo Clock. The 2 ladies that were there were friendly and knowledgeable. Helped me with finding a cuckoo clock repairperson . Nice small town historical museum. Displays are nicely arranged with many local artifacts and clearly locals donating family heirlooms. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Love the exterior charm. Would recommend going and making a donation to support their efforts. Be sure to visit the Sugarcreek Bulk Food store for nice selection of cheeses and meats and good prices.
