I recently moved to the area and immediately fell in love with this park and its beautiful lake and woods! Besides the ducks and geese, there's gorgeous swans, herons, storks and I also saw a pelican (in Springfield, New Jersey?!) The variety of birds and their musical calls have made this my "Little Piece of Heaven!" I even saw flocks of snowbirds this past winter which was the only thing that was nice about such a harsh winter season. Never saw snowbirds before, absolutely beautiful!
The grounds are immaculate and well-kept. There's BBQ grills and picnic tables too. You can even go fishing at one end of the lake but no boating or swimming allowed. There are hills and flat surfaces,shade and blazing sun that beams on your lovely neck.It is 1 solid mile and I de-stress by walking 3 miles.Occasionally you will see Bambi and pals which you can take pictures if you are quiet.There is a pond with families of ducks bathing or having fun.The trees are designated and the benches are dedicated to love ones.A water fountain provides water for the dogs with a huge bowl that is nearby.If you have not been to this pond park you need to explore it soon. I would have given 5 stars if they would just add a play ground for lit'l one's to divert their attention from climbing all over the exercise stations while I m trying use them.
Lately, I have noticed the dredging equipment at the pond. That cost big bucks and they added a brand new spiffy utility shack at the pond ,which I'm sure wasn't cheap either, but no playground.
Briant park has plenty of space for a playground. It just boggles my mind why it doesn't have one ,and a dog run too.
