First of all, let me start by saying that this review is the result of MANY poor experiences at this office over the course of the last 2-3 years. Not just today’s trip… I can’t call it a visit because we weren’t actually seen.
This urgent care absolutely wasted my time this morning. I scheduled an appointment for my two children and was told to arrive at 9:10am. An hour later, I’m still in the waiting room and I’m being given the excuse that they only have one provider. So scheduling ahead of time online is a joke and the girl at the front desk told me those were just “estimated times”. Well, you should adjust people’s wait times to compensate for that and not tell them to come into the waiting room and sit for over an hour! I was there because I had a baby who was constipated for four days and was refusing to eat. I had to leave because I had something scheduled at 1 o’clock that I couldn’t cancel, which gave them two hours to get us back there and seen and judging from the time I spent in the waiting room that simply was not possible. Really disappointed that I brought my two kids here to be seen at the same time and ended up having to leave and take them somewhere else. This doctor’s office will never waste my time again. I had scheduled the appointments online ahead of time and was told to be there at 9:10. I sat there believing I was going to be seen while struggling with my constipated daughter who is autistic, so she doesn’t do well in public. I did all of this for nothing.
I’ve had other issues with this office. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt and kept going back, but this will be my last visit. The other issues included a very rude girl at the front desk. Another time I had a doctor tell me because we came in right before closing that he wanted to go home, but people kept coming in before he could get off work and I STILL went back thinking maybe he was just having a bad day. I should have listened to my gut feeling a long time ago. When I told the girl at the front I was upset she was very smug and I could tell she didn’t care at all. Her lack of concern and smug attitude was the last straw for me. I’m done with the lack of professionalism and incompetence from the people renting this building parading as a “doctor’s office”. The staff here is better suited to work with inmates, not people with concerns about their health. They lack the concern and compassion necessary to provide adequate care.
Edit after the comment below was left by the manager: I spoke to a manager before and as I pointed out in my review, returned again after my poor experiences. My time was wasted. I’m not going to waste more time talking to a manager, that will result in absolutely nothing. Let me guess… you’ll apologize and ask me to consider returning again in the future and this will happen again. Sorry… not interested unless you’re going to cut me a check for $50 an hour for my wasted time that I can never get back. I ABSOLUTELY will not...
Read moreI was in town on vacation when I woke up with what was probably the worst sore throat I’ve ever felt, and little to no voice at all. So, I was waiting at the door at Carenow when it opened at 8, at the time, I didn’t know I could or should have registered online, but the receptionist was nice and got me squared away there.
I didn’t have to wait long at all, which when you feel like death, is much appreciated.
The one and only part of my trip to Carenow that deserves 5 stars is the male LPN. He was so personable and caring. We chatted about my series of misfortunate vacation events this week and he swabbed my throat and off into the sunset he went lol.
Here’s where my visit put a rather nasty taste in my mouth. I basically knew when I got there the chances of me having strep were high. I even told the receptionist AND the nurse I thought I had strep. That’s when NP Jessica Roberts comes in and demands knowing “where is your mask”…. Umm lady, I passed by numerous people and nobody told me I needed one…She said the staff would be reminded.. She continued to act impaled that I was sitting in a doctors office with a sore throat, zero fever, no cough, WITHOUT A MASK. How dare I? She quickly said she would just go get me one, and dropped it coming in the doorway. She huffed and said “she’d just get me out of there quickly”.. that her spouse has compromised immune system and she didn’t want to bring home strep throat to him. She didn’t examine me, she maaaay have quickly look in my throat (after already having gave me my strep sentence) and then proceeded to tell me what to do in order to sanitize etc. I told her I was a pro at this, I’ve had strep many times and I’m a mom to two young kids.. I’d save her the extra two minutes in my contamination room. I really feel like if she talks to other patients the way she did me, then she really should seek out a different profession.
All in all, I got the treatment I needed, quickly.. and the LPN was the star here. I’d go back if I was in a situation that called for urgent care on vacation but wouldn’t recommend to friends or family due to being scolded annd treated like an leper over...
Read moreI cannot emphasize enough how ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS this place is! These “doctors” are going to kill someone!! I don’t want to share too many personal details because this experience just happened, but this was some of the most incompetent care I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot of incompetent care in the Myrtle Beach area!
Went in with a potentially very serious issue, that we feared could be life threatening if not caught and treated early. Unfortunately it is Sunday, so we tried here rather than the hospital. The doctor literally walked away while we were still trying to ask questions! This was not after a long, extensive conversation either. He did LESS than the bare minimum, did not pay attention to anything that was said, and refused to do any testing! Then walked away as we were still talking. We were told by the woman at the front desk that if he had more questions to call in, or get back in line behind three other waiting patients. He truly did not listen or care about anything. He didn’t know what was going on when he came in the room, though the situation had been told several times to nurses. So either he’s not reading charts, or his nurses are also incompetent and not recording details. He acted shocked when we told him the situation, made some comment about how that “changes things” but then still did no testing, asked no other questions, and then gave a completely wrong diagnosis based on, quite literally, nothing!! Something he could write a basic prescription for! When asked further about the possible issue we are concerned with, he said “you don’t have that”. Yet as stated, he’d done NO testing or evaluation that would allow him to know that for a fact, or even speculate that!? Yet he stated it as fact while leaving the room. He hadn’t even listened to the symptoms! Which very much point toward that issue!! We tried this rather than going to a hospital, but now we ended up having to go to the hospital anyway! This place is not only a waste of time, but it’s dangerous!!! A lot of people would have just accepted his incorrect evaluation and went home to...
