You guys should be more clear on your policies and state that this facility is not child friendly for swimming. Took my family here and was told they cannot use their swimmies, and their was no shallow part for the kids to play. Disappointed, but not as much as my kids as we told them we had to get back in the car. 3 stars because we were told before we paid, and I Iove going to concerts here.
Update:
7 years later I return with my children. They are told they have to take a swim test. The bro dude administering them says my son was swimming too slow and failed him. This is despite him being raised in his grandfathers pond, Michigan lakes, and our backyard swimming pool. Definitely a power trip situation and devastated my son. Also a knock on my responsibility as I was swimming with them. Had a lifeguard reprimand my daughter for standing on the submerged rock ledges while she observed fish with her googles. Could not explain the reasoning behind this. Yet he had no problem with a young man standing on top of the high dive and repeatedly scream the f word. I think I’ve figured out this place. They don’t want kids. Will be disputing charges and not returning as this is the second time this...
Read moreWent here when we drove all the way to White Star Quarry to be greeted by a “closed” sign.
This place was pretty awesome, BUT you need to be a good/great confident swimmer.
This isn’t a beach type swimming area where there’s a shallow end to relax in, it’s basically 20’ deep or more everywhere.
There are multiple spots to jump into the water, floats out in the quarry to jump off or climb on, a water slide that’s pretty fun, as well as music and spots to lay or sit out.
The lifeguards were all great except one female one who did nothing just nitpick everything we did. When we got there, both pontoons were full of people laying and relaxing on them. After a couple hours when most guests left, my small group of 5 did the same thing and got whistled at to move around, not climb on this, not tread water here, not stay grouped together, etc. She was the only one who had issues with us.
Then, one of our people said she felt something nip at her back and we brushed it off thinking she was exaggerating but when we got out after she freaked out about it, sure enough, her back was bleeding from something biting her back...
Read moreSo I attended the Jazz on the Terrace event tonight. It began raining and the emcee announced that people could get their umbrellas. However that was not permitted. Someone came in with a Cleveland Browns umbrella after that announcement was made and the "Tenable Supervisor" went after him like he was a safety threat. After some words were exchanged the Tenable supervisor grabbed his umbrella. It appeared she had no intentions of backing down. She ended up breaking his umbrella. While I understand the rule, and her responsibility to enforce it, I don't feel that she has the right to put her hands on him or his possessions. It was very disturbing to watch what she did to this gentleman over an umbrella. While the venue itself was nice, and other staff were friendly, I hope the jazz festival is moved to a location where attendees are treated fairly when the rules are broken. Mind you this was all adults, average age was over 40, majority were people of color. I saw many other people bring in umbrellas without being stopped when they entered the venue. Only because of her behavior is the...
