We live within walking distance, it's a great park. Plenty of kids playscapes, swings, slides. You can hang on the beach and swim, or rent row boats per hour. They have large rooms available for rent for parties and the like. You are also able to use several of the charcoal grills found around multiple park picnic tables. Toledo park system has labeled much of the flora and also created butterfly friendly sections that always seem to have some type of butterflies about. Plenty of ducks and geese and if you have a license, you can fish from the boats or the shore. One of the nicest parks I've been to.

We love walking at Olander! Beautiful view with about a mile walking trail around a pond. Always has lots of birds (ducks, mallards and geese, so you see babies every spring.) A few fun play grounds for the kids. We haven't gone yet but there is a roped off swim area as well, not sure what it costs.

We went for a picnic today and had such a great time! It was a little chilly, but the kids still got to run around and play. This park is absolutely beautiful—I can’t believe I’ve lived so close for over two years and just now discovered it! Definitely coming back soon.

Orlander Park in Sylvania, OH, has recently undergone a remarkable transformation that has taken it to a whole new level of awesomeness! Let me tell you, as a mom, this park is now an absolute dream come true for families like mine.

First things first, let's talk about the view. Oh my goodness, it's like stepping into a postcard! The park is nestled in the most picturesque setting, with vibrant greenery, serene ponds, and charming walking trails that are just begging to be explored. It's the perfect backdrop for those precious family photos or even just a moment of tranquility away from the chaos of everyday life.

Now, let's get to the seating options, because us tired moms need a place to rest! Orlander Park has got us covered. They've added these adorable benches along the pathways that are not only comfortable but also strategically placed so you can enjoy the best views. And if you're like me and love a good picnic, they've got these cozy picnic areas complete with tables and umbrellas. It's like they read my mind! Whether you're planning a family outing, a romantic date with your partner, or just need a break from chasing your little ones, you can find the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.

But wait, there's more! This park is a haven for all kinds of activities. Sports enthusiasts, listen up! They've revamped the sports fields and they are top-notch. You can gather your friends for a friendly game of soccer or Frisbee and let me tell you, the fun is guaranteed. And for those of us who crave a little adventure, they've got these amazing hiking trails that wind through the park. It's like stepping into nature's playground and exploring at your own pace. And let's not forget about the kiddos! Orlander Park has dedicated areas just for them, complete with playground equipment that will keep them entertained for hours on end.

All in all, this newly renovated Orlander Park is a game-changer. As a mom, I can confidently say that it has something for everyone. The breathtaking views, ample seating options, and a variety of activities make it the perfect destination for families, couples, or even some much-needed "me time." So, grab your picnic basket, put on your sneakers, and head over to Orlander Park. You won't be...

My review is biased because I've been coming here since I was a small child. This park is a jewel in the local area. It is free to enter for local Sylvania and Sylvania township residents. In the time that I've been coming here the park has matured and developed and integrated with the local recreational community sponsoring fishing derbies for the kids in the spring, jogging marathons and has a meeting room that is used for various community endeavors including private rental. I know they rent paddle boats and row boats and maybe kayaks, no motorized boats are allowed. I have seen small sailboats on the lake. There is a strict no alcohol policy and I've seen the police or sheriff's department approach random partiers and check their cup to make sure that it's non-alcoholic. It is a public fishing hole which means adults have to have a fishing license but kids don't so it's a great place to teach your kids or grandkids how to fish. One end has a sandy beach and an enclosed shallow area to act as a kiddie pool, but the beach drops off pretty quick to the deep end and there's a rope to separate the deep end where the rafts are and kids have to pass a lifeguard test to swim out there. There's a very nicely paved path that goes all the way around that I think is about 2 mi long and totally wheelchair accessible, about half of the path is in the shade and about half of it is in full sunlight. The park also has four different playground areas one of them is near the volleyball courts. The others are in shady corners of the park. I forgot to add the swimming area has toilet facilities and a changing room of sorts, I see park employees go in there with cleaning supplies a lot considering how randomly I come here. They also have open air shelter houses, freestanding barbecue pits and benches looking out onto the lake. It's hard to count how many times I've been here for a picnic, barbecue, graduation party or family reunion. I'll probably be here...

I honestly do not like olander. It's great for walking and exercise but it's just not that great. I feel like its way sandy there and the fishing isn't great. Now if you have three year olds that want to fish it is easy there to access water and get smaller fish. So perfect for 3 year old or little kids. The pond is big and has a cement path all the way around so it's essentially one big circle. You can see the entire place from every point if that gives you a frame of reference to as how big it is. In conclusion, if you want more adventure olander is not the place to go . Like I said olander is good for walking a mile around a pond or biking but to be very honest it's just not that great unless you live next door. I'd never may a day trip to go to olander at all. Oh I forgot they do have a little beach area to swim... again great for small kids. Overall I'd say go to oak openings for more scenery and walking area along with fishing spots that have...
