Country Grains Market â Disappointed After the Hype
For years, weâve driven by and seen the sign claiming âBest Sandwich in Sylvania.â Today, we finally decided to stop in and give it a try.
We ordered the Italian sandwich and the chicken salad, along with two bags of chips, a muffin, and a peanut butter chocolate cookie. While the service was very slow, we were still hopeful for a great meal.
Unfortunately, the experience only went downhill from there. When I bit into my Italian sandwich, I immediately noticed the salami casing hadnât been removed. Every bite was interrupted by the chewy, unpleasant skin. On top of that, the bread was noticeably stale and falling apart.
As for the chicken saladâmy fiancĂ©e took one bite and instantly realized it wasnât chicken salad at all, but tuna. This was a huge letdown, especially for someone who doesnât care for tuna. Again, the bread was stale and dry.
We had high hopes based on the sign and the long-standing presence of the market, but the food simply didnât live up to the hype. We wonât be returning.
Bewareâthis wasnât the best sandwich in Sylvania....
Read moreOk , like many folks I have driven past the sign claiming to " Have the best sandwiches in Sylvania " . Of course I was skeptical, so today I finally decided to put that statement to the test and I got to say they're pretty on point with the statement. The young man working behind the counter suggested the corned beef sandwich. I agreed and told him just to make it how it's supposed to be made . He suggested to have it heated up, and even went to the trouble to go turn on the oven . While waiting for the sandwich I browsed the large selection of jams , breads and other tasty looking items . They had a sampling out of their cinnamon bread. I had to stop myself from the eating all of it, it was that good . When the sandwich was done I was able to get a can of pop and chips with it for under $10. The sandwich was absolutely fantastic ! I highly recommend stopping in for some food and the excellent...

The handicap parking space is at the back corner of the lot, furthest of any spot there. Thankfully, when I pulled in, there was a spot up front. When I left, all spots near the door were taken. There are a wide variety of breads available and a small deli area. There have breads sitting out to try, but I wasn't thrilled with the idea of others touching the loaves to cut them, which I saw happening, so I didn't try any. There were two people working, but no one asked me if I needed help, even when I was at the front counter for few minutes. Not place I would probably go back to. The bread is pretty expensive. It may be very good, and if it's your thing, there are a lot to choose from, but it seemed like a lot to pay for poor service and a concern about...
