From a person that knows the ins and outs of escape rooms and has participated in many i don't understand how this escape room has 5 star reviews, my only theory is there is a lot of first time people going here and they don't know better or haven't gone to a room that's actually worth its salt. Our experience was odd to say the least.
the lobby is unfinished and dirty, the bathroom was very dirty, and the over all initial experience was very lackluster and disappointing. once in the room the walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling and there are people in the next room over that you will eventually get to (you go from one room to the next to the next) so we could hear everything they were doing the entire time and that was frustrating and ruined a lot of things for you. There is an employee in the room with you the entire time (very awkward) and he would occasionally shine the flashlight on things you would need to do instead of letting you figure things out. Not to mention almost everything in there either is not reset properly, is a red herring, or has a "do not touch" sticker. i can't tell you how many times we would take 20 minutes or so on a puzzle to open it up and nothing was in it or there was a key that didn't go anywhere and the employee would proclaim "Ha! Red herring" there was no logical flow to the room, and many of the props didnt work the first handful of times you tried.
half way through our experience the employees switched out and the person in the room couldn't provide us with any clues because she didn't know where we were in the game. A gamemaster should ALWAYS know where you are at and how to assist. The employee opted to just tell us "you don't need that" instead of providing us clues and letting us solve things, though it's hard to solve things when it doesn't make sense half the time or they didn't reset the room from previous groups.
to top it off we got in to a new room and it was not reset so we had to turn our backs and wait as an employee reset the room, very uncomfortable.
the website is not user friendly and there is no way to book online so when we arrived they didn't remember we were coming so we had to wait a while as the got situated.
all in all there is a lot to be desired from this establishment, there are many other options around that provide a higher...
Read moreI've done a bunch of escape rooms and this experience in particular was really interesting. Overall, my husband and I along with our two friends all had fun and managed to escape before the timer ran out (the room we chose had a 70 minute time limit). The man who operates the place (USMC veteran) was running the front desk and he was very friendly. Part of their proceeds go towards a charity and they're grateful to military members so they offer military discount.
When we entered our escape room, our hostess Autumn ended up staying in the room with us the entire time. This we found very odd because all escape rooms we've ever completed before we were given walkie talkies and our hosts were outside the room communicating with us if necessary. Autumn sat on the side and made small talk with us in the beginning. She had a bit of a sassy, sarcastic attitude, however we paid no mind as we believed she was just trying to throw us off and make us lose focus by getting in our head.
The room we were in was great; a lot of it involved some common sense and obvious answers while certain tasks made us think for a bit. We loved that we weren't just escaping the one room we were in but rather we unlocked rooms within the room. Another odd thing was while we were halfway/nearing the end of escaping, the next group started in the first part of the escape room which you could hear clearly every noise they made. This was a bit distracting, however we all just did our best to block out the noise and continued forth.
We'd love to return just because of how friendly the owner was and how much fun we had. The oddities we encountered weren't entirely bothersome but just strange; however, I don't see that preventing us from returning again...
Read moreHad such a terrible experience here. I've done 10-15 escape rooms over the last 3 years and this was the worst one yet. The employee working that day was 20 minutes late to open, and arrived extremely flustered because apparently her babysitter didn't follow through. We understand life happens so we let it slide. Then we get into the building and the other 2 super young girls working there show up and they all seem like they have no idea what's going on. Extremely unprofessional. My group and I just stand there waiting for instructions/to start our room even though it's starting about 40 minutes late now, but these young girls are giggling and totally not reading the room. We had 2 other groups waiting with us and we all looked at each other in disbelief. Then, one of the girls babies shows up and is crying and screaming the whole time she's trying to explain the rules to us. We finally get into the room, and the girl assigned to us forgets to start our time. She just breezes through the instructions, and sits there in the room with us on her phone awkwardly while we try to solve the room, not even knowing how much time there is on the clock. The room we did was 3 adjacent rooms, and in each one, we'd ask the girl with us for hints and she said she wasn't up to speed with that room so she'd have to run up to the front desk to ask the other employees. Not a very efficient way to give us hints when we're being timed. We couldn't even solve the escape room because she couldn't give us hints in time, and also failed to start our time during the last portion. Ended up being a complete waste of our time. 10/10 would NOT recommend going here, there are so many other amazing well done escape rooms in the...
