Me and a couple of girlfriends just left The Frontier Room seconds ago. We've been there a few times before, usually for their $1 tacos and $2 margaritas after a long hard day of work. Normally we'd get Johnny as our bartender, but tonight it was a dark haired, tattooed bartender named Amber. When Amber brought us our food, the tacos weren't marked as chicken or beef so my friends and I were trying to figure out who's tacos were who's. Apparently this angered Amber the bartender, she threw my order at me on the table so hard that my taco dressings fell out. She then yelled at us in front of other patrons for us to order from the bar next time instead of sitting at the table. I told her I didn't know about that rule so Amber proceeded to humiliate me and my friends by pointing towards the big arrows sign saying where to order. She turned around and started laughing with another older man about how dumb we were. I was so upset at this point, I had to step outside for fresh air. While doing so, I saw another business owner across the street from the Frontier Room, went and told her what had just happened and she provided me with the owner's name as Neil Harris. This sweet gal also stated that she knew Amber the bartender to be uppity and rude and a girl that that thinks she's above others. I thanked the other business owner and went back in to the Frontuer Room. As I walked back in, I can see and hear Amber talking to the same man about how stupid we were and that we couldn't read and that it was all hilarious to her. I told her she was completely unprofessional and that My friends and I would never set foot in The Frontier Room ever again. Amber was very pleased with this and made it clear it was good riddance. I saw Johnny sitting at the bar and asked him to step outside so I could tell him what just happened. Johnny was apologetic but he was hesitant to give out his manager's name and phone number as to not get Amber in trouble. I kept asking for a phone number to file a complaint and Johnny did not provide it. He instead asked me to leave my phone number and someone would call me back whenever. My girlfriends and I would never set foot in this place ever again. Unless you are looking to be disrespected, humiliated and yelled at, then I strongly suggest everyone else stay away from The Frontier Room as well. They hire TRASH without people skills such as Amber who probably didn't make it past 8th grade. I would never put another woman or human being down, but tonight was such a nightmare that I truly am ashamed that this place of business employs people...
Read moreI will just say it, I KNEW BETTER... on their brunch menu, which had a BUNCH of other delicious things PLUS their specials board looked incredible (the smoked Gouda and bacon grits with a house made biscuit were indeed phenomenal). I was lured by my nostalgia for my time spent in Korea to order the Paejeon (Korean pancake). I had never seen it on a menu at an American restaurant and I'm skeptical about every single other thing I see on ANY menu that has Korean BBQ sauce, ssamjeong, or gochujang, so believe me when I say, I KNEW BETTER; I just couldn't help myself. It was perfectly fine IF I didn't expect it to taste like Paejeon. It made an excellent omelette after I wrapped my head around what the flavors and textures reminded me of and I finished the very large plate of Korean seasoned omelette. I also order the Fat Orange Cat beer having known NOTHING about it other than being representative of myself so I thought the beer and I would go well together, we did not, but I'm not a quitter so I finished that as well. But the beers are served in those thick bottomed shaker glasses that aren't really a proper sized pint.
Our server was AMAZING (Riley?) and kept checking in, they knew I was fooling myself from the start considering we had a conversation about Korean food before I ordered it. I appreciated that they weren't TOO attentive but definitely knew when to come by. I must have had my sassy pants on because I could NOT shut up and stop being negative and it was embarrassing really so I just shoved my hands in my coat pocket and said I don't wanna talk about the beer.
I made poor choices for MYSELF.
Paejeon: 1* (or as an omelette 3*) Mom's Gouda & bacon grits 5* My beer: 2* (flat would make it 1 so at least it wasn't...

The venue in itself is quite cool, HOWEVER this bar will steal from people. We came in while the "Pink" concert was in town which we were not attending. We ordered a beer from one bartender and paid cash 14$ and something cents. Went and ordered a second beer from the bartender who had taken over for the evening a blond lady, and she charged us 5$ more for two beers (came to 19.95 for two now) !! When I questioned it she went on to say sorry she just gave back the wrong change and it was 10 cents difference. I said it again that it's not the same price we were charged before. She looked frazzled but didn't agree. I could see her conversing with what I assumed to be the manager and came up to our table. She said sorry but that she charged the "RATE for when concerts are playing" and they do it so they can stay in business she said. HOWEVER we got there while the concert had started down the road and clearly everyone in there were not attendees. She did end up refunding the difference only because we brought it up and caught them trying to STEAL and grossly overcharge us.
Long story short, this bar will make up their own prices and steal from you. I do not support this and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. So I BE CAREFUL!
They should be absolutely ashamed...
