Cherokee National Prison Museum — Attraction in Tahlequah

Anybody else? As I was walking through the kitchen in the jail, I felt something tug on my shirt tail. It felt like I had caught it on something. I stopped and turned to look but I was in the middle of the room and there was nothing to catch it on. It startled me for a second but I continued touring. As we were leaving we spoke to one the employees and he mentioned that there have been ghost encounters. I immediately got chills. I explained what had happened and the employee was not surprised. We are Cherokee and it was interesting to learn more history of the area where our ancestors marched on the trail of tears to. The prison was very interesting and my camera kept taking pictures on it's own while in the jail area so my son and I got a laugh out of that. But we really enjoyed our time there and I recommend a visit there to learn more about the history of the outlaws from the area and that...

This is an interesting museum detailing the history of the Cherokee justice system. It has details on various outlaws and their dealings with the law. Also, how the Cherokee justice system collided with the US justice system. We spent a little over an hour taking in all of the information.
