Vidalia's has the best fancy desserts, hands down, in Tahlequah. Every dessert is a masterpiece. (Ruby's has the best homemade non fancy desserts.) All of Vidalia's food is delicious. I love the spicy hot dogs & Kraut dogs. Everything has a unique name, I just can't remember them off the top of my head, sorry. This trip I had the homemade strawberry shortcake. It was not short on flavor, let me tell you. It had fresh strawberries, homemade shortcake and whipped cream made from heavy cream. Delicious! The only thing I found frustrating (other than they close at 7 pm and me and my family like to talk) was that I have to use a walker due to dizziness issues. It was a lovely evening and we decided that we wanted to sit on the back patio. It was kind of cold in the restaurant. We're getting older. That can happen with age. It is a small room and we are not quiet people, so we're discussing the logistics of getting me and my walker up the platform where the big table is and out to the patio. We get me up the steps, carefully. And then the family gets the walker up to the platform. And then we attempt to go out the door and it is locked and apparently can't be unlocked. Oops, sorry. Thanks for letting us go through all of that climbing for nothing, young ladies. So then we have to get me and my walker down the steps, at least it is easier than going up and we go sit outside in the front with the teeny tiny tables but the weather was beautiful and warm. A little windy, nothing to break the wind. They had to bring us more napkins as they kept blowing away. I'm afraid we littered but that was not our choice. But, as long as you are not disabled and wanting to sit on the patio, you...
Read moreVidalia’s Café is a delightful deli/café in downtown Tahlequah. They have a large menu of meats to sweets, soups salads spuds and chili to chocolate cake. Something for everyone.
I went big with the Cambiano Sandwich: ham, salami, peperoni, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, pesto, garlic aioli, sandwiched between grilled rosemary schiacciato bread, (In Oklahoma schiacciato is pronounced “squished”). A magnificent combination of flavors with a thick stack of meat. I added their delicious potato salad to fill the plate with more food than I could finish. My wife had the Green Island, which is a big taco salad. She commented that the freshness of the salad with the excellent chili, was like a homemade meal!
The restaurant clean, nicely decorated and surprisingly large (check the pictures). Three large dining areas. The restaurant can handle a crowd. The service is order at the counter and your food is delivered quickly. Serve yourself drinks and grab your own table tools and wipes. The restaurant is well staffed with very friendly folks behind the counter.
Definitely one of the best meals that we have had...
Read moreI am starting this off by saying, I am not typically one to leave a negative review unless I absolutely feel it needs to be heard. I am an avid baker/cook and enjoy supporting small businesses 100%. With that being said, I had high hopes for this place…as a foodie & in town visiting and wanting to eat here, I was incredibly disappointed and shocked. In the photo is the kids “cheese nachos”. Only the top chips had shredded cheese and all other chips had nothing. If this was my business, I would be totally embarrassed by this…. We went ahead and exchanged this for a grilled cheese. We also got the chocolate mini Bundt , with ganache… the chocolate cake was so old and stale, the first fork got stuck in the cake and broke(not even kidding). The second fork , witn effort, got through the cake. It is by far the worst piece of cake I’ve ever had in my life. No exaggeration, I am being totally serious. Maybe this place used to be good, but today it definitely was not. I can...
